Caleb & Lilliana Davis Newsletter (Winter 2021)

Dear Friends and Family,

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are so thankful and blessed to have the opportunity to share what the Lord has been teaching us these last few months and what he is doing through this ministry. There have been some awesome things going on here at Teen Missions Headquarters and around the world, it is truly encouraging seeing the Lord work in and through this ministry!

Half a year with Teen Missions!

Oh how time flies! It feels like just yesterday that Caleb and I were driving down to join staff and now, here we are six months later at the beginning of the new year! The Lord has been teaching us so much and it is truly incredible to see Him working in the little moments and the big ones. During the first three months of being on staff Caleb and I lived in a ‘temporary home’ (one of the volunteer homes Teen Missions has) eagerly waiting to be placed into our permanent home on Heavenly Street. Teen Missions got three new mobile homes, and we were blessed to be able to move into one! With that also came waiting for all of the inspections and permitting to go through, which we found can be a lengthy process! We were finally able to move in at the beginning of December, Praise the Lord! In spite of having to wait, the Lord taught us so much about patience, waiting on His perfect timing, & trusting that He is going to provide everything right when we need it. He truly is the greatest and most caring provider! We are so thankful for the wonderful community of people the Lord has placed in our lives and for the blessing of having somewhere to stay while waiting for our home to be approved!

Caleb has continued working in the maintenance department, fixing their vehicles and heavy machinery, as well as helping to keep the property looking nice, which he loves! This past October he went through the CPO (Certified Pool Operator) Class to become a certified pool caretaker to be able to  maintain the pool on Teen Missions property. This past January he took the position of the pool guy! He is enjoying learning about the technical side of pool maintenance and how to operate the machinery. Since joining staff, Caleb has been able to put his mechanic skills to use as well as learn a lot of new practical skills. From bush hogging, driving tractors, roofing, pouring concrete, to demoing an old building, he has been learning a lot and has enjoyed each task in different ways! Meanwhile, I have been growing in my position in the finance department getting the hang of the ins and outs of the new computer system, learning new skills as well as spending some mornings working outside. I am finding that there is lots to learn when it comes to the finance world, but it has been fun to learn new things and grow in that area!

Summer 2021

Everyone here on staff at TMI is eager to see what God will do in the summer of 2021. As of right now, there are 307 members signed up for summer teams and it has been so exciting to see the number rise week by week. In spite of the uncertainty of this summer, it is encouraging to see so many young people place their trust in Christ as they raise support in hope to serve Him overseas. We are praying that no matter what happens this summer, people would continue to seek after the Lord and serve Him wherever He takes them.

Worshippers before Workers

These past few months, the Lord has been teaching us the importance of being a worshipper before a worker, or in other words making sure our hearts are in alignment with Christ before we set out to do the day’s assignment for Him. Since stepping into full-time ministry we have realized how important it is to be completely focused on Christ and keep Him at the center because we cannot effectively share about Him unless our hearts are fully focused on Him. Caleb has been reading a book by A.W. Tozer called “The Purpose of Man” (an amazing book!) which discusses our purpose as believers is to worship our Creator in everything we do. This got him thinking, “Are we worshipping Christ in everything we do? Is our focus on glorifying Him in everything? Are we genuinely excited and in awe of knowing Him and making Him known?” A great reminder of this and what the Lord has called us to is in Luke 9:23 when Jesus says “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” In everything we do, are we carrying the cross? Is it evident that we are following and worshipping Him? Just as the cross was no small weight for Jesus, it shouldn’t be something small that can’t be noticed in our daily life. Our excitement and zeal for knowing Christ should out pour into everything we do, and in everything we do it should be for His glory not just because it’s a good thing to do. We have been reminded that just as everyone could see the cross on Jesus, it should be just as evident in our lives that we are following and worshiping the Lord! This led to many great discussions of how we can grow in those things as a couple and individually. The Lord is continuing to remind us that we cannot serve Him and make Him known if we aren’t genuinely seeking Him and first worshipping Him BEFORE serving Him.

Our First Holidays as a Married Couple!

As we shared in our last newsletter, Caleb and I got married back in August! It was one of the most special days of our lives and we are so thankful for all of those who have poured into our lives, given us advice, and prayed with us as we have ventured into this new life season. With just being married, it made this holiday season one to remember! Caleb and I experienced a lot of firsts, including: making our first pie together (Caleb made the crust and I made the filling, which was so fun!), having our first Friendsgiving, getting our first real Christmas tree, decorating our new home for Christmas, making sugar cookies, and visiting family here in Florida. It was such a fun time together filled with lots of laughter, new traditions, and new firsts! Aside from the holiday festivities we spend a lot of time hiking, reading, going to the zoo, and volunteering at a local therapy barn! It was such a sweet holiday season and we are looking forward to many more together!

Caleb and I are in the process of hopefully buying a new vehicle in the next year. If you would like to find out more information about it, check out our Car Fund Campaign online at
