Justin & Lindsey Casper Newsletter (Fall 2020)

Family, Friends, and Former Team Members,

What a year it has been! I think everyone would agree that this year is one for the books. As many of you may already know, because of the Corona virus pandemic, we had to cancel all of the summer teams. Because of this, we were able to take our yearly deputation earlier than normal, and be camp counselor for a week at a Christian Union church camp in Greenfield, Ohio. We were so blessed to get to be a part of this ministry. So many of the campers made first-time commitments to the Lord, and we enjoyed getting to pray with each of our campers daily.

Since coming back to Florida, Justin has been busy doing lots of needed projects around Teen Missions base and Teen Missions housing. He spent a month helping renovate a trailer for a new staff couple to live in. He laid new flooring and updated the bathroom. He also just helped complete a new sound stage for the chapel at the base. This will keep all of the equipment more organized.

I am still busy homeschooling the kids. We have started a new method of learning known as unit studies. Last month we learned all about North American birds. The kids were fascinated. Some of their favorite facts they learned: owls have 14 bones in their neck, the European Starling came to America because of William Shakespeare, and a yellow bellied sap sucker can peck at a tree 100-300 times per minute! We took advantage of  all the bird trails that we live close to, as often as possible. One of the highlights was visiting a local nature center, and seeing a barred owl up close! We will be learning about Asia next, and I am just as excited as the kids are!

Rebecca is still going to speech therapy twice a week. She is doing amazingly well. Her speech therapist is having to come up with new goals often for her, because she is catching on so quickly. We are so proud of her.

One of our passions here at Teen Missions is getting to be involved with the BMW students. BMW stands for Bible, Missionary & Work Training Center which is a Bible college that Teen Missions offers free of charge. A new term has started, and there are ten students attending. Once a week, the students have a vespers service in the evening. We have committed to taking one of those weeks a month, and doing some fun things with them. Our first one is coming up soon, and we are really looking forward to getting to know them all better.

I recently have joined a woman’s Bible study at my church. We meet every Saturday morning, and we are reading through the book “Women of the Word” by Jen Wilkin. Jen is passionate about teaching women how to study the Bible for themselves, and how to do it with your heart and mind. I have been learning so much from this study. It has also given me the chance to develop deeper relationships with other women from my church. God has really been blessing this time.

We also attend a small group from our church on Wednesday nights. We have been studying the attributes of God, and getting to throw around our insights and listen to what others have to say has really been a great experience for us.

This past spring, Teen Missions decided as a board, to raise the minimum budget amount that we should have, living on staff as a family of six. We are now not even meeting our minimum budget. We really feel like this is where God wants us to be, but we do need more financial support. We ask that you would pray and see if God would have you partner with us. You can donate online at or checks can be made out to Teen Missions with a note attached stating it is for us. If you have any questions for us, feel free to contact us.
