Ministry:

Your team will serve at Refugio de Esperanza (Refuge of Hope) in Pucallpa, Peru, a ministry dedicated to bringing hope and transformation to children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Your main project will be replacing the roof on one of the buildings, which may include building or replacing trusses before installing new roofing.

Beyond construction, you’ll have the chance to spend time with the children during recess, assist in classrooms, and build meaningful relationships. There will also be opportunities to share the Gospel through team presentations during the week, and on Sundays when visiting the on-site church and other local congregations.

Meet Your Head Leaders:

Russ and Kelly both grew up with Christ at the center of their lives and have a heart for discipling young people. Russ first served on a Teen Missions team as a teen in 1999 and has also participated in mission trips to Mexico and the Philippines. Kelly went on a mission trip to the outskirts of Cancun as a teen and has since served in her church through Sunday school, co-op teaching, and mentoring students. Together, they are passionate about helping teens grow in their faith while sharing the gospel with those they serve.

Married for 18 years, Russ and Kelly have two sons, Case and Cavan. They enjoy spending time together as a family and pursuing hobbies like blacksmithing, gardening, and drawing. They look forward to seeing how God will work in and through the teens on their team this summer.
