Anthony & Shawna Myers Newsletter (Winter 2026)

Recently, one of the staff shared Acts 4:13 in our morning chapel. “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they marveled. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” We are so glad that God uses ordinary men and women, those who are not impressive by worldly standards, to share about Him. It is about our availability and being transformed by spending time with Him.

OVERSEAS MINISTRY UPDATE

Over the Christmas season we saw national Boot Camps running in a nine countries including Zambia (585), South Africa (74), Tanzania (323), Uganda (317), Peru (34), Bolivia (74), Colombia (101), Australia (26) and Honduras (64). A total of 1,598 team members attended these Boot Camps alone! There are more Boot Camps (40 total) running all through the year so we look forward to updating you when those finish. TMI is privileged to run 39 Rescue Units with over 7,400 orphans receiving care, nine Matron Units assisting 359 girls, and 30 Bible Schools in 20 countries. The Sunday School attendance averages 85,638. Most importantly, the Reported Decisions for Christ are 82,572. Praise the Lord!

FAMILY UPDATE

Since Darin and Maddie were going to be in Colorado for Christmas, we decided to take them to see ICE at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando. It is a building that is 9 degrees (yes in Florida) with themed ice sculptures. This year it was Rudolph. Actually we saw more snow there than we did in PA! Then we traveled to some of the Disney hotels to see the Christmas decorations. The rest of us were able to get together in PA over the holidays. We enjoyed our annual dinner with Curt and Diane Bitterman, visiting a few supporters, and just being together with family. Our oldest granddaughter recently turned five, which is hard to believe! We now have six grandchildren (ages 2 months to 5 years) who bring so much joy to our lives. Though we don’t see them as often as we would like, we can “see” them through FaceTime, Marco Polo and other ways. We are looking forward to them all coming down the first week of March.

HEADQUARTERS UPDATE

A lot is going on this spring here at the headquarters, too. We have a good number of volunteers coming and going over the next few months. They are a great help in getting some things done and catching us up. Other things include our Spring Break teams to New York and Florida and the annual Mud Run fundraiser on May 2. Proceeds go to the overseas bases to help with medical and project supplies as well as other things that are needed.

The most recent update at the headquarters, is the completion of the new “Display Room” which covers the founders and history of TMI, as well as shares the current work going on here and overseas. We invite you to come and see it.

Anthony continues to oversee the work outside. There are a lot of construction projects going on as well as preparations for Boot Camp. I am in the HR Department helping with staff needs, newsletters, housing, and whatever else is needed. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for the summer of 2026. As of now, there are 250 kids and leaders registered for this summer with more registering daily. We will be home this summer overseeing the Launch Team and helping to run three Debriefs in July and August.

HEALTH UPDATE

Some of you may know that Anthony took a trip to Southeast Asia in October. During the travel home, he began to feel tightness in his left calf. After a few days of being home, he went to Urgent Care and was immediately sent to the ER with a possible blood clot. After having tests there, it was confirmed. The trip included about 24 hours of sitting on planes, and he was sitting in meetings quite a bit overseas, so the doctors concluded that it is what caused the clot. It was “the best kind” of clot, which should dissolve on its own. He has a followup appointment in February. He is also scheduled to go back to Asia for a week of meetings in the middle of February. Pray that the trip goes well and he stays healthy. We are also waiting for the results of his CT scan to figure out why he continues to get headaches that really “put him down” sometimes. They can be debilitating, so pray that we can find answers soon and it will be something “simple”! We Praise the Lord that he has not had to have any iron infusions in over a year! I am waiting to see an orthopedic doctor regarding two meniscus tears in my left knee. It has been slowly getting more sore over the past few months so I finally got it checked. Just getting older I guess!

SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR

We enjoy the fellowship of the staff and students here. Monthly potluck lunches, Bible studies, family movie nights, pickleball tournaments, picnics and other activities. We are blessed by the family atmosphere…and it is growing with four new babies coming this summer!

We are also thankful for you all, for your love and support. We feel blessed to be able to serve here at Teen Missions. Let us know if you have any prayer requests and please come and see us if you are near the east coast of Florida. We would love to spend time with you and show you the ministry.

Blessings,

Anthony & Shawna
