Lane Family Spring Update 2025
Spring Break…
It has been a very busy time since our last update. As the summer months are quickly approaching, lots of preparation is going on. Thankfully, we’ve had help from many volunteers.
In April, we had two weeks where volunteers came to Teen Missions from our home church denomination. Twenty-three volunteers of all ages from the Southern Methodist denomination gave their time to help with various projects including sewing, Boot Camp and Mud Run set up and cleaning. The list of things they did includes so much more, and we wouldn’t be prepared for our summer ministry without them. While they visited, we were able to spend time with them in the afternoon/evenings. They are dear friends, and having them here brought us a taste of home. It was such an encouragement for our family, and we always look forward to when they come.
Speaking of Spring Break, in March, I had the opportunity to help lead a Teen Missions Spring Break trip to Yonkers, New York, which is near New York City. I, along with two staff couples, spent a week with nine teens who traveled from across the United States and Canada. They stayed at a church, Yonkers Christian Assembly, doing renovation work in their building. While there, they also had the chance to go to New York City and do sightseeing. It was a great week as these teens worked diligently to get their jobs done and a blessing to meet the people from the church. After the teens traveled home at the end of the week, those of us leading had the opportunity to attend the Sunday morning church service. The Lord really blessed our time in Yonkers, and we hope to return for Spring Break in 2026.
Mud Run…
Each year, Teen Missions hosts the Tough Gator 5K Mud Run. All proceeds go toward international aid for those in need. This includes disaster relief, providing essential clothing, food, medical supplies and access to education through school materials and uniforms. A lot of work and effort goes into this event. This year, over 640 runners came from many states to participate. Brant, Allison and Jonathan helped during the event.
Summer Teams…
Now that the Mud Run is over, we are concentrating on Boot Camp/summer team preparations. Sign-ups for teams are officially closed, and we have 216 teens registered. With leaders and staff kids, there will be about 300 going out across the world in less than two months.
We are leading a team to Peru alongside three assistant leaders and have 19 teens going with us, Lord willing! Jesse will be coming as well, and we praise the Lord that his funds have been raised. Thank you to everyone who gave toward his expenses. Please pray for the teens who are still raising funds to come.
Allison is going to Uganda and has also received the funds needed for her trip. It has been amazing to see how the Lord provides for these trips!
Boot Camp officially starts on June 17 and will conclude with Commissioning on Saturday, June 28, at 7pm. Commissioning is open to the public, so if you would like to help send us out, we would love for you to come to Teen Missions and worship with us under the Big Top before we head out around the world! After commissioning, the teams start traveling to their destinations and will be serving for 3-4 weeks at the project sites.
Family Update…
You’ve just finished reading the ministry update. Now for our family. Annabelle and Allison are officially finished with school. By the time you receive this, Annabelle and Allison will have graduated. Annabelle graduated on May 9 from Charleston Southern University with a degree in Worship Leadership and Children’s Ministry. Allison graduated from Merritt Island Christian School on May 16. Pray for Allison as she waits to have plans finalized on what she will be doing after her summer team. She is planning to go to the Sojourner School of Ministry, which is a Bible/Ministry school at Teen Missions.
Annabelle has some more exciting news! On May 5, her boyfriend (Josh Planty) proposed to her in Charleston, and she accepted. Brant and I were blessed to be able to see her on this exciting day! As parents, we pray for our children, that most importantly they give their life to the Lord, and we also pray that He would be preparing their future spouse for them. We are so thankful for answered prayers. The Lord has blessed Annabelle with a fiancé who loves Him with all his heart. We look forward to what the Lord has in store for Annabelle and Josh. Please be praying for them, that they would continually seek the Lord’s will for their lives.
Jonathan and Jesse will be finishing their school very soon. Jonathan is finishing 10th grade and Jesse is finishing 4th. This summer, Jonathan will be staying in South Carolina with his grandparents and also working at the Southern Methodist church camps. He’s counting down the days to be there, and we know this is a great opportunity!
Jesse has had a fun spring on his Little League baseball team. They won the Merritt Island Little League Championship and are still playing in district playoffs. We’ve really enjoyed watching him play and improve.
Please pray for us (Brant & Mary) as we navigate everything that is going on right now between family life events and ministry. Pray for good health, guidance, strength, wisdom…all the things. We definitely can’t do this without the Lord’s help. Thank you for being faithful ministry partners, for walking alongside our family in every season of life. We love you and are blessed beyond measure for all you do for us. Please keep in touch with us, we’d love to hear from you and pray with you about any prayer needs you have. We look forward to sharing in our next update!
Love,
Brant & Mary Lane
