Dear Friends and Faithful Supporters,
This summer, God gave us the privilege of leading a Teen Missions team to the remote Torres Strait Islands of Australia. Reaching these isolated Indigenous communities required more than 50 hours of travel, followed by ferries and small fishing boats between islands. We arrived on Moa Island on July 1st - “The Coming of the Light,” the annual celebration commemorating the arrival of the Gospel in the Torres Strait. We were honored to participate and humbled that ours was the first American missions team to visit these islands since World War II. Our focus on Moa and nearby Badu Island was reaching children and teenagers with the Gospel. We led youth rallies and worship, preached in local churches, shared testimonies and dramas, conducted children’s ministry, prayer walked through communities, and talked personally with young people about Christ. We rejoiced as four people gave their lives to Jesus! Our ministry continued in the remote Northern Peninsula Area through evangelism, children’s outreach, preaching, and service projects. It was a blessing watching our teenagers boldly share their faith and discover that God could use them to make Christ known halfway around the world. While we were in Australia, our first grandchild, Asher Kelly, was born! Being away for his birth was difficult, but finally holding him when we returned home was incredibly special. Looking ahead, we are preparing to lead a Spring Break team to New York City and a summer team to Poland, as well as serve at the Australia Boot Camp in December and teach at the Sojourner School of Ministry. This December, we will serve at the Teen Missions Australia Boot Camp, helping train and prepare Australian teenagers to take the Gospel around the world. We are excited to invest in the next generation of missionaries!
