Chaffee Newsletter (Winter 2026)
Greetings as we leap into a new year together!
Personal Involvement
This season is in full bloom as we prepare obstacles for the Mud Run and tent sites for the upcoming Boot Camp. Yes, this means cutting and clearing more dead and falling trees and vegetation debris, which are some of my favorite things to do at Teen Missions—along with cutting grass and good company of working together with the students which makes for an awesome time. We’ve also been putting up signs, building tent pads, and more.
Teen Testimony
Robert, from the Peru team, reflected, “I never expected to be changed so much in just a short period of time. Serving on the field and spending time with the kids has shaped my perspective vastly. I have grown tremendously in my faith and am on the path to grow even more. I'm eternally grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to see how much more I can grow and learn from this.”
Madagascar Overview
Teen Missions in Madagascar was established in 1995 and has two locations, one in Mahajanga in northern Madagascar and the other in Vangaindrano, in southern Madagascar. Both bases run an annual Boot Camp during the summer months, and both also run a thriving Bible, Missionary & Work (BMW) Training Center. Teen Missions Madagascar also runs 60 Sunday schools and a retreat center in this African island country of around 32 million people.
Family
Annalise constantly beams her smile to those around and seems to adore her siblings as much as they immensely adore her. She has begun to crawl forward with her legs and just needs her arms to follow suit; she'll be even more unstoppable than she already is with her current rolling and pivoting.
Oliver loves being read to and has been much more energetic lately! He has also figured out how to climb out of his pack-and-play and escape the baby gate blocking his doorway. Oliver and Allister both enjoy preparing wonderful treats in their new play kitchen.
Allister also loves being outdoors, digging in the dirt and pointing out the animals he sees scurrying around.
Brielle is our very hands-on kiddo and enjoys crafting, especially bracelets. Brielle and David have both enjoyed playing more down the street with friends.
David has also enjoyed card trading with some of the boys on the street. This past Christmas season, David decided when his friends weren't up for caroling with him, he went door-to-door caroling on his own. David has also been writing imaginative short stories which have been a blast to read through.
Rebekah has now outgrown Christi in height and also braved her fear of heights by going to a couple aerial adventure parks with ropes courses and ziplines when her best friends offered to take her. There isn't much she won't try!
Thank you for soaring to new heights with our family as we serve the Lord together!
Praise and Prayer Requests
• Praise as Annalise’s reflux seems to be reducing at times! Pray it continues decreasing and as she's been struggling a lot with teething.
• Pray we see Allister's blood glucose for his type 1 diabetes below 7% & in range more frequently.
• Pray for Rebekah as her wisdom teeth are erupting prematurely and giving her pain. We’ve been told she'll have to have them extracted once they come in a bit further.
• Pray that our van will run well for years to come, Lord-willing.
• Pray as we’re looking to share the life-changing ministry of Teen Missions and increase our financial support, particularly monthly. If you live in Florida, we’d love to schedule a time to meet with you or a group you’re part of. If you’re interested please reach out and let us know who you are, in case we need to add you to our contacts. Lord-willing, we’ll get to meet with you!
• Lord willing, my (Timothy's) vertigo simmers down and my asthma and sensitivity to prolonged heat exposure remain in check.
• Pray for Christi as she homeschools Rebekah, David, & Brielle this year and that our children will be thirsty to learn and accomplish their tasks with enthusiasm.
• Pray for our kids to be supportive in the way they treat each other.
• Pray for David to practice calming techniques he learned during behavioral therapy.
• Pray for us to have wisdom in the choices we make.
• Pray for us to continue adjusting our schedules.
• Pray for God’s peace & our safety.
