Edalgo Newsletter (Fall 2025)

Dear Friends and Family,

We aim to make the most of every opportunity the Lord gives us, like Ephesians 5:16 says.

SUMMER TEAM 2026 EDALGOS LEAD TO…GUATEMALA!

(calling all teens to prayerfully join us!)

RECAP FROM TEAM BOLIVIA SUMMER 2025

Worksite- The Lord gave us 15 incredible teenagers to lead and do life with all summer in Montero, Bolivia.  Truly, the Lord was growing the teens’ own relationships with Him by leaps and bounds before our very eyes.  We ventured outside of our base city on many occasions:  to minister at many churches, to hold VBS kids groups, to go sightseeing at Biocentro Guembe ecological park, and to go shopping in Santa Cruz.  In Montero, the team traveled in three taxis about 15 min to the worksite Monday-Fri.  Their objective was to begin the work on a classroom and feeding kitchen for a new church plant.  Once we arrived, materials were purchased (using funds allocated from team members’ trip costs) and delivered to the job site.  First the jobsite had to be prepared; two large trees were removed and several feet of fresh dirt was packed onto the footprint of the future building.  We literally began this project from BELOW the ground up…the teenagers dug 11 giant 6’ deep holes for the pillars of the structure to be cemented into.  They also created the pillars from tying rebar in LONG sections.  These rebar pillars were placed in the holes and then another arduous task of mixing concrete from piles of cement, sand, and gravel commenced for days and days.  Only two guys could lift the buckets of sand alone, and they lifted until their arms gave out each day;  but overall, this enormous task took a lot of teamwork.  When I tell you that this team worked hard, words can’t express how entirely they poured themselves into the work.  The host Bolivian church was incredibly grateful.  To call them a “work team” is an understatement…they LABORED for Christ day after day and I’m serious that they did not complain.  Boy did they eat though!  HA!  They devoured the food and I was so grateful to get to make it.

Miracles in the Kitchen- Nobody saw the daily miracles in the kitchen like I did, but I can try to explain.  Each day I got to have one leader and two team members stay with me for Kitchen Patrol to help shop, clean, and prepare food for the crew.  Everyone was so willing to help with joy and I got to hear what was on their heart when their day to stay came.  The stove didn’t work upon our arrival, but with a new hose for gas, a flame finally appeared.  Our team brought a beat-up steel box oven to use for cooking.  This thing looked like a bomb as we lugged it through the airport!  Despite its appearance, the Lord helped us create beautiful casseroles, giant strawberry coffee cakes, and dish after dish on our three burner situation.  Miracles.  Cooking for 22 people daily happened—to God be all the glory!

Salvation-  At least 8 teenagers decided to believe in Christ as their Lord and Savior, including one worker at the Orlando water park on our day off once we’d returned from Bolivia!  The Lord caused it to storm in the middle of our fun day there, leading all of the Teen Missions folks to take shelter in a covered area with water park employees.  The team members began to animatedly sing Boot Camp songs about the Lord, attracting quite a lot of attention.  Robbie began a conversation with an unsaved guy who worked there, who was waiting on the rain to pass.  He ended up putting his trust in the Savior and turning to Christ!

FAMILY LIFE

Fisher started his senior year at Merritt Island Christian School (MICS) - still fully funded through scholarships!  Hallelujah!  He earned Captain of the MICS football team and so far they’re 4-0 undefeated and gunning for a State Championship.  He’s won “Special Teams Player of the Week” and “Defensive Player of the Week” so far.  He’d really love to play in college.  Please pray for him to be led in whatever direction the Lord has for him after high school- he’s undecided about it all.  His summer working for Camp of the Woods in New York was a great experience and job opportunity.  He earned an award for his outstanding work ethic as he washed dishes and waited on tables.

Aspen and Rivers transitioned back to homeschooling; Aspen is in a Classical Conversations Challenge 3 class learning Latin again and reading many Shakespeare plays.  She has a class full of friends who are eager to learn and spend time together outside of class too.  She is working at Jimmy John’s baking fresh bread and making sub sandwiches, grateful for a job and one where there are many unbelievers…also a blessing!  She’s 16 years old and driving!  I get to lead two classes with Rivers and three other sweet gals every Tuesday morning at my house.  We discuss assigned books, they’re participating in a Team Policy Debate, and they’re diving deep into many of our country’s original documents.  Pray for Aspen and Rivers as they seek God for which team to sign up for this coming summer; both are pretty excited already!  Aspen’s trip to Peru and Rivers’s trip to Cambodia were both incredible and such a blessing.

Harvest and Shepherd are plugging away at homeschooling.  Harvest was truly a big help in Bolivia on the worksite.  Shepherd and Everest played hard with the Bolivian children (Shep found himself in a choke-hold one time, ha!) and they opened doors for us to talk to local people there.  A Bolivian lady there wanted to learn how to make cookies and hamburgers like Americans, so she got all of her own ingredients and watched as we taught her how to make them and bake them in our miracle oven.

MINISTRY & ROBBIE AT THE BASE

Robbie worked with the high school cross country coach, Andy Schermbeck at MICS, to plan the first ever Teen Mission International MICS Alumni Race ON 8/08/25.  Robbie offered a prayer and short devo on Luke 17:11-19 (The Ten Lepers) for the 28 runners.

The Edalgo family went on Kingdom Mission by hosting 21 MICS football players on 8/21/25. We had one player sing and two pray during the event. Robbie provided a devo on the power of the tongue.

The Housing Team-  Robbie participated in committee meetings, employee counseling sessions related to stewardship, and provided guidance in relation to $167,675.78 worth of property improvements. They completed four home inspections. This committee saved TMI $57,324.22 when overseeing the approximately $225,000 budget. We had termite inspections and care established on 22 units for missionaries, addressed plumbing issues, re-leveling on seven missionary homes and HVAC issues were addressed.

Signs-  Up to 14 road signs are now installed on the TMI base.

Front Flower Bed-  The front flower bed is finished!  He cut concrete off, stained and cut 35 landscape timbers, rebar was driven into ground for timbers, and he constructed and stained a cross for the center with some help.

TMI Wildfire Readiness-  Robbie worked with Florida Forestry Commission to purchase wildfire response equipment. He mapped out and facilitated the establishment of three firebreaks on the property.  One firebreak also prevented the spread of invasive species on the property, increasing our ability to eradicate the invasives from the TMI base. These objectives have provided many opportunities for Robbie to use his natural resources experience gained from time as an Agricultural Natural Resources Extension Agent with University of Georgia.  The Lord doesn’t waste anything!

Sojourner School of Ministry-  Robbie was able to be the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony for the second year students.  In addition, he taught 14 students a total of 22 class periods in Church History I. In addition, Robbie developed and implemented a curriculum related to mental health care for returning international interns.  Robbie will be teaching Personal Evangelism starting September 2025. Finally, the curriculum work for international Bible Schools continues and the second phase of organizing the compiled information will soon begin.  The Edalgos also adopted a student, Josiah Nelson, and look forward to being his “family” here at TMI.

Chaplin-  Robbie continues to assist TMI with the weekly management of the morning Chapel service and remains available for staff to discuss personal issues.

Office of Admin-  He is currently facilitating the establishment of an afterschool program (enabling us to share the Gospel) working in conjunction with Sonfishers, Brevard County Public Schools, and TMI.  We have seven TMI staff who will provide activities that present the Gospel message to 4th – 6th graders once per week. Reading programs could grow out of this effort as well.  Finally, he will be assisting Sonfishers in future grant submissions and scheduling and building relational capital with school administrators. This grant allows access to public school students for Christian organizations!
