Emily Brumbelow Newsletter (Spring 2025)

So much has been happening since my last update, and I’m excited to tell you all about it!

WORK & TEACHING

Since my last update, I started teaching again at Sojourner. It’s been so much fun to be back in the classroom with the students. I’m enjoying teaching Missions 1 (the history and strategy of missions). I’m learning a lot through this course, and from the students. It’s always a blessing to teach! Our class will finish up the second week of June, so please pray as I finish teaching this class!

Work is going well, too! I’m still helping in finance in different areas, but I’m so thankful for Delaynie, who has taken on so much of that responsibility. This allows me to focus most of my time on coordinating the Bible School and our overseas interns.

Speaking of the overseas interns, they’re doing very well! Three of them will be arriving back in Florida soon to finish up their internships here, and the last three will arrive in July. Please be praying for these interns as they finish up their time, that they may be strengthened by the Lord and encouraged as well.

I’ve also been working with our six second-year students as they prepare for their internships, which will begin in September. Prayers are appreciated as they raise their support and prepare for this next season of life. I’m so excited for them but will also miss them dearly. If you’re interested in learning more about our interns, you can visit this link: https://teenmissions.org/interns. Maybe the Lord is leading you to support them prayerfully or financially.

Things with the rest of the students are going well, and each of them is looking forward to summer teams, which are fast approaching! Please pray for them as they prepare to step into these leadership positions with their teams of teens that will be serving around the world!

SUMMER

As I said in my last update, I will be staying in Florida this summer helping with running the Boot Camp and Debriefs. I will still help teach Music Class to the teams at Boot Camp, so I’m really looking forward to it! It’s always fun getting to spend time with the different teams. I’m also helping to coordinate our annual Missions Conference during Boot Camp. We’re planning to have seven different organizations/schools join us this year.

AFTER SUMMER

After our summer program ends, I’m planning to do a bit of travel for my deputation time. I’ll be heading out to Colorado for a few weeks for a good friend’s wedding and some other fun activities. I’ll then head to Georgia for the last week of August to see my family. I would love to get together with any of my Georgia friends and supporters, if at all possible while I’m home. Please let me know if you would be free to meet up! [email protected].

COLOMBIA

One of my biggest updates is about my recent trip to Colombia! I just got back yesterday (as of the writing of this update). I traveled with a fellow co-worker of mine, Miss. Pat. Colombia is one of the newest bases of Teen Missions, though the staff and students there have been involved in youth ministry for many years! We were there for 11 days to help their staff and students with an English intensive class. We had around 40 students in this class, and they each did a wonderful job! For many of them, learning English was an entirely new experience, but they gave it their all, nevertheless. It was so amazing for me to see all of their growth from the first class to the last. We also were able to have good fellowship with them all, and I pray we were also an encouragement to them. We ate lots of amazing food and saw some gorgeous sights! The area we were in was called Silvania, and it’s around two hours southwest of Bogota. It’s a beautiful mountainous area with lush green all around.

On our last day, the country coordinator and another staff member, Pablo & Joshua, showed us around Bogota. We got to learn a lot about the history of the city, and we even got to go up to the highest point of the city and see for miles! What an amazing experience.

All in all, I was so blessed to have this experience and to be used by God in this way. All glory to Him for all the work in Colombia. Please pray for our staff and students there, and for all the ministry that is going on.

FINANCES:

A huge thank you to each of my financial supporters. I’ve seen an increase in my support! I continue to look and pray for more monthly or one-time supporters, as I still haven’t reached my budget goal of $1,600 a month. If you or someone you know is interested in partnering with me through the ministry of Teen Missions, please follow this link: https://teenmissions.org/missionary/brumbelow, or contact me directly at [email protected]. Once again, thank you to each of you who support me financially and prayerfully. You each are such a blessing and encouragement to me! May the Lord bless you.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • For continued growth in my relationship with the Lord. That I may continue to be used by Him.
  • For all that is coming up very soon with TMI’s summer program! For the Lord’s will to be done this summer in and through each of the team members, leaders, and staff.
  • For our overseas interns - for God’s provision and protection for them.
  • For our TMI Colombia staff and students.
  • For my financial support to be sufficient for each of my needs.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this update! I’m so thankful for you each and pray for you all daily.

Many blessings & LOTS of love,

Emily
