Foy Newsletter (Fall 2025)

Happy Fall, Everyone!

It’s hard to believe summer has already flown by! As we shared in our spring newsletter, we headed north and have spent the past four months in Indiana. We thought we’d escape the Florida heat, but Indiana had record-high temperatures this summer. Thankfully, Shonn paced himself, got outside when he could, and even planted a few fruit trees. We’re excited to see them grow and enjoy some fresh fruit. Health-wise, he’s been doing really well, and we’re grateful for only a few minor issues.

As we mentioned, May was moving month for our kids. Shane, Jodie, and Quinley are settled in Tennessee now. We were able to visit in June to celebrate Quinley’s 9th birthday! Please pray for the sale of their home in South Carolina.  Katie and Chris sold their Florida home and are hoping to close on a new one in Colorado Springs soon. Pray for a smooth closing process. Everyone seems to be adjusting well, and school is now underway for all our grandkids in TN, CO, and FL! Praying that God gives them all a great year of learning and that they will grow in Him as well.

It took us a while to unpack and settle into our new home, as we were also adjusting to a new work environment.  We both continued in the same work we were doing in Florida, just working remotely.  It made some tasks a little more challenging, but worked well.

We quickly realized God’s timing in having us up north in Indiana this summer. Not only was Shonn’s health easier to manage, but we were able to help the family through a move, hospital stays, and various health challenges. Best of all, we enjoyed plenty of grandparent time with Erinn and Ryan’s two little boys, Oliver and Griffin, which has been such a blessing!

This summer, we followed the Lord’s Boot Camp through the nightly livestreams. It was definitely different not being there in person! I, Lori, sorted through nearly a thousand photos a day that were uploaded, picking about 100 to post on Facebook so parents, friends, and supporters could see what was happening. It was fun to see all the pictures and feel connected to everything God was doing. There were 300 leaders and team members, and we enjoyed watching the nightly rallies and worship!

At the end of August, we did a mix of deputation and vacation as we headed west. We enjoyed a night in St. Louis and had fun on a Mississippi boat ride.  We enjoyed a few nights at my sister’s in Kansas City, and enjoyed a BBQ they hosted with nieces and nephews (and their kids!), who we hadn’t seen in a long time.  After KC, we had a nice visit in Wichita, KS, with my cousin and his family. From there, we went on to Colorado Springs to spend time with Katie, Chris, and the kids. We had a great time with them and loved that when we were visiting, they had a walk-through of their new home. Colorado is beautiful, and our family especially enjoyed visiting the Garden of the Gods. On the way back to Indiana, we didn’t make many stops, but we were able to see my uncle in Manhattan, KS, and pull out old pictures to share some memories. We really enjoyed seeing so much family on our trip!

As we write this, we’re in northern Indiana with our friends, Duane and Laurie. We just spent a fun weekend with them and Erinn’s family, attending a pioneer festival we used to take our kids to ‘back in the day.’ Great old and new memories!

We’re preparing to leave here shortly to attend the Barnabas Foundation Conference near Chicago. We’ve appreciated their training and partnership in helping with planned giving for the ministry of Teen Missions. After that, we’ll head back to Florida for our annual Teen Missions staff retreat. It’s always fun to hear about all the summer ministry that happened, share ideas and improvements, and enjoy playing games and the fellowship. We can’t wait to hug our Florida kids and grandkids after being gone for four months!

We are so thankful for your love, prayers, and support. You truly are a blessing to us and to the ministry we can accomplish because of your prayers and support.

Because of Jesus,

Shonn & Lori Foy
