Holschen Newsletter (2026 Fall)
Our summer in Guatemala was incredible! Our team had 13 team members and 3 other leaders including my(Caleb) mom, Tamara, as the head female leader, toting along my two youngest sisters as family members as well. Going overseas to serve the Lord with my family was one of the biggest blessings I could have gotten. My sisters are already thinking about coming back again in 2027! The biggest lesson I learned leading this team was that God equips those He calls. With all of the preparations for Boot Camp, I did not have a lot of time to think about and prepare for the team that I was leading. When they arrived, I got anxious as I was suddenly thinking about all that needed done with the team. In this anxiety, though, God showed me that He still has a plan for me at Teen Missions. I was able to get into the flow of things in a way that only He could have done. I praise the Lord for His unending faithfulness! After the summer, we were able to take some much needed rest. We had a couple of weeks at home where we started hearing some of Esther’s first few words(and a lot of animal noises), then spent a week in Houston to visit some of Karly’s friends and family. The week in Texas was busy as can be, so we are glad to be home and ready to settle into our routine. Thank you so much for your prayers and support! In 2027, we are both slated to lead the Paraguay team! This will be Karly and my first time head leading together, so please pray for us as we prepare ourselves to take on the responsibility of leading and parenting together for the projected eight week team. We know the Lord is in it!
Prayer requests: - Patience as we learn and grow alongside Esther - Wisdom as we get back into our groove - That we would grow in our faith and as a family
And how will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who proclaim good news of good things!” - Romans 10:15
