Jansma Newsletter (2026 Fall)
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am. Send me!’” Isaiah 6:8 We had the privilege of witnessing 217 teens come to Florida and answer the call the Lord placed on their hearts. As Boot Camp came to an end, we watched as they spread out across the world to serve, share the Gospel, and proclaim Christ. We are also reminded that these are not the only teams answering that call. Many other Boot Camps (and other community-specific ministries) take place throughout the year around the world at other bases. What a privilege it is to witness the Lord at work, and be a part of what He is doing! The Lord was so faithful to our team in Peru, serving at Refugio de Esperanza. We were able to complete many projects around the campus, serve in the classrooms, and travel throughout the community sharing the gospel. We enjoyed some delicious Peruvian food and took in the Lord’s beauty while sightseeing. Throughout the summer, we also felt the Lord work mightily in each of our hearts as we navigated personal struggles, were stretched in different ways, and found renewed strength in Him. We praise the Lord for our team of 16 young people and our leadership team of five. We pray the Lord will continue to use this summer to impact our team and those we met in Peru, and for continued blessing on the ministry at Refugio de Esperanza, the staff who serve there, and the children and families they minister to.
Case and Cavan were also challenged and grew throughout their summers in Indonesia and Madagascar. The boys had much longer travel schedules than we did, but handled the long days of travel well and worked hard on their individual team projects. We are so thankful for the opportunities the Lord gave each of them and for the ways He stretched them, taught them, and allowed them to serve Him alongside other young people.
Prayer requests: • Kelly stepping into a new role with the Sojourner School of Ministry—wisdom, guidance, and the Lord’s continued leading. • Case as he seeks the Lord’s direction for what He is calling him to do after high school.
We are grateful for the many ways the Lord continues to work. Thank you for partnering with our family through your prayers, encouragement, and support. Blessings!
