Shonn & Lori Foy Newsletter (Spring 2025)

Hello, Friends and Family! How was your spring? Here’s a quick recap of our spring:

Family

In March, we traveled to Nashville (IN) to await the arrival of our 9th grandchild. Griffin Atticus Tahtinen arrived on March 28th! Shonn spent five days there, and Lori stayed two weeks, enjoying time with Ryan, Erinn, and Oliver and welcoming Griffin. Lori turned 60 while in Indiana.

We spent Easter weekend with Katie and Jesse’s families. We spent Good Friday swimming with Piper and Theo. Callahan wasn’t too excited about the chilly water! Katie’s family joined us at our church Sunday, where we had a wonderful service, enjoyed a potluck and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. That afternoon, Jesse, Ema, and the family came to Heavenly Street for the street-wide Easter egg hunt.

We’ve loved watching Emmaus play baseball and Silas play soccer this spring.  Simon has started wrestling, and Shonn is thrilled to have another wrestler in the family! We’re trying to soak in all the time we can before heading to Indiana for the summer!

Shane, Jodie, and Quinley moved back to Tennessee on May 3rd. Pray for them as they adjust to their move, start new jobs/schooling, a new gymnastics club, and begin the homeschool adventure!

Katie’s family is also making a change in location! Chris has been offered a job and they are moving to the Colorado Springs area in June. The Lord opened doors quickly, so pray for a quick and smooth transition for their family.

U Boxes were delivered to our house on May 8th, and on the 16th, we plan to drive our truck (and cargo trailer) north to our Indiana home. We trust God for all the strength we need and know this is His plan for us.  He is always GOOD!

Ministry

April 24 was Big Top Day!  Over 100 staff, students, and volunteers raised Big Top #1 in anticipation of the Lord’s Boot Camp. About 300 teens and leaders, on 13 teams, will have classes and worship under the Big Top beginning on June 17th.  Commissioning Night is on June 28th.

The Tough Gator 5K Mud Run was May 3rd!

All the staff and students have worked hard the last few months to get the sponsors, website, trails cleared, the obstacles built, signs printed, etc, for this event. We had over

700 who registered and about 640 runners who ‘ran with purpose’ since all the proceeds go overseas for those in need. Katie, Piper, and Theo joined friends for another fun (and muddy!) race.

We have a busy June ahead, starting with a trip to Iowa for the Christian Union General Council at Jericho Hills, where we’ll connect with fellow CU missionaries and friends. At the end of the month,  we are flying to Florida to pick up our Jeep and drive it back to IN. The remainder of the summer we’ll settle into our new home, set up our office, and work remotely.

Praise the Lord, Shonn has been doing pretty well health-wise. He has been adjusting his work hours when he can, working from home in the mornings and going into the office in the afternoons. At times, all the changes can feel overwhelming, but we find peace, knowing that God has a plan for us (and our family!) and nothing is unknown to Him.

Thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement. His Goodness can be seen through you and your care for us and impacts all we do for His Kingdom!
