Steve & Gay Petersen Newsletter (2026 Fall)
Greetings,
Summer Fruit— Fourteen teams trained this summer at the Lord’s Boot Camp and boldly traveled to the ends of the earth (literally) to shine the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They used testimonies, dramas, puppets, games, sports, and work projects, alongside the local church to impact eternity. God’s presence was felt in the midst of the hot, dusty roads and under our Big Top tent. We dove into God’s Word, worshipped, and prayed together. Teens returned to Debrief having owned their faith, with newfound confidence, poise, and deep new friendships. Praise the Lord for all of the hard-working staff, students, leaders, volunteers, and team members who made it all happen. To God be the glory.
Happening in Florida — We are now refocusing our efforts on the 2027 summer team preparations and domestic ministries on the Space Coast like the after-school programs in partnership with Sonfishers and local campus ministry in partnership with CRU. We plan to host the Latin American Summit while also beginning a new year at Sojourner School of Ministry. I’ve been invited to teach Minor Prophets I this term, which is exciting. Also, Gay was blessed to share as a guest speaker at a women's retreat in Georgia in September. Winter Plans — We had to cancel our fall travel plans due to health issues with my (Steve’s) parents. We do hope to travel into the Midwest this January for partnership development. Let us know if you’d like to host us and invite some friends to learn about Teen Missions. We are also working to mobilize our TMI alumni into a national network. Let us know if you’d be excited to help in this area!
Welcome Boaz! We’re Grandparents! — Can you believe it? Boaz Douglas Petersen entered the world on June 25th. Timothy and Ellie are great parents and we LOVE getting chances to watch him grow! Welcome back Faith! — Faith returned from her internship in Colombia and turned around to serve as a leader with the Philippines team. She is now raising her support to join full time Teen Missions staff to serve in the Sojourner Department.
Prayer requests: Pray for expansion efforts for our domestic ministry involvement here in Brevard County Pray for the establishment of an organized National TMI Alumni Network Pray for God’s provision for new ministry work in Paraguay, Peru, Italy, and Mexico
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? - Mic 6:8 ESV
