Steve & Gay Petersen Newsletter (Winter 2025)
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
- John 15:16-17 ESV
Dear Friends and Family,
WINTER REPORT
This season we have been running Boot Camps in Zambia, Australia, Colombia, Bolivia, Honduras, Peru, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa. Some countries have multiple Boot Camps in different regions running simultaneously so that’s 16 Boot Camps with 78 teams and over 1,600 team members. It is incredible to witness what God is doing through Teen Missions staff worldwide as they work to inspire and equip a new generation to boldly proclaim salvation in Christ alone. We give God ALL the Glory, Honor, and Praise for what He has done. Thank you for being part of all this.
Our Florida staff and interns have also been busy traveling to six countries this winter to partner with our overseas staff. Volunteer adult teams traveled to Honduras (in the fall) and Colombia (this winter), which were a great blessing.
WHAT’S HAPPENING HERE
Registrations for 2025 teens and leaders are coming in daily. More than 25 are now registered for our Spring Leadership Training Seminar! We are so thankful that more candidate staff are onboarding—two singles and a couple with children. Two new students joined Sojourner School of Ministry this January, bringing our student count to 16, plus five current interns serving overseas in Honduras, Australia, and SE Asia.
Renovations have been completed in the dishwasher room and dining room patio. The display room renovations are advancing rapidly, and we hope to open it before the Spring newsletter!
PETERSEN FAMILY UPDATE
We enjoyed a quiet, but memorable Christmas here in Florida. It was nice to be home and spend time with family and friends. Timothy and Ellie spent a week in Colorado with her family, but we were able to make sweet memories with them before and after their trip.
Gay and I just completed a ministry trip to Tennessee, during which we had great meetings and presentations with churches, schools, and individuals. We are excited about expanded partnerships and cooperation in many areas. With our growing staff, Gay is kept busy with the various jobs she performs in Human Resources. Timothy and Ellie are now settling into their new mobile home and are greatly advancing their respective departments: Mobilization (Timothy) and Volunteers and the Display Room Renovation (Ellie). Faith is now raising support for her internship in Colombia as she moves through her last year as a Sojourner student. She is also serving as an RA this year and is learning many leadership lessons along the way!
