Storey Newsletter (2026 Fall)
Since my last newsletter, I have spent two months in Florida working at Boot Camp in June and July. I stayed for the first Debrief (There were three this year). Then I drove back home to Iowa for a couple of months and now I'm back in Florida where I participated in our annual Staff Retreat last week and will be helping with the Latin American Summit next week before flying back to Iowa for the winter. Boot Camp was great again this year with over 200 teenagers on 14 teams all around the world. I just can't tell you what a wonderful ministry this is as it prepares these teens for their mission trips and then helps prepare them to go home after the trip is over! My main job at Boot Camp is the BC Office where team members and leaders can come get any information they may need. I also help to teach each team how to teach a Sunday school lesson, play games that can be shared with the children overseas and that class also covers balloon animals (someone else teaches that part). As I mentioned before, my first granddaughter was married at the end of July. I was given special permission to travel there (during BC!) for the wedding. It was just beautiful and a very meaningful ceremony and the time spent with family before I had to hurry back to Florida was just so good! As I said, I will be back in Iowa for the winter. I really do NOT like the cold and I'm so thankful that I don't have to leave my house on those bitterly cold days. This year, however, I have the responsibility of making sure Henry (my poodle) gets some exercise every day, which I need as much (or more) than he does, so I will definitely be getting out in the cold at least a little while every day. :-)
I am so blessed to be able to continue working with this great ministry and also be close enough to family to get to attend some of their activities. Thank you for helping to make that possible and for helping to keep the ministry of Teen Missions International going year after year. Those of us who work here never take your support for granted. Thank you so much!
Prayer requests: 1. Upcoming Latin American Summit 2. More focused time with Jesus 3. Safety when traveling
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." Ephesians 3:20
