Tom & Linda Maher Newsletter (Spring 2025)

Dear Friends,

Spring is a beautiful time of the year and, in fact, is a favorite. The tulips, daffodils, lilacs and lily of the valley bring back wonderful memories. Here in Florida we have so much green; however, there is a type of pine that blooms at the end in the shape of the cross.  A wonderful reminder of the beauty of the Spring and Easter season.

MARCH

Our two oldest grandsons, Jude and Link, both turned ten in March. Jude plays flag football and Link plays soccer. I am so excited that they love sports! March is my favorite month because I love college basketball—it was an exciting tournament season this year.

At Teen Missions we hosted a few Spring Break retreats and facilitated two Spring Break Teams. One of the teams traveled to New York City and worked with an inner-city church, while the other group worked here on the property. Both teams had teens who signed up for summer mission trips because of their involvement with our Spring Break ministry.

Special to us this month, we hosted long-time friend and supporter, Gary Camp, and his wife. Gary has been a faithful supporter for the entire time we have served in ministry.  He was pivotal in Tom’s spiritual journey serving as his youth group leader.

We also had a visit from Tom’s sister at the end of February. Tom’s brother came up from South Florida and the three siblings spent a rare day together. Diane brought some childhood photos to share which was so fun.

APRIL

We traveled to Alabama to spend Easter with Zach, Alyssa, Elinor, Antigone and Merry Joy. We had such a blessed time celebrating our Risen Savior and creating some Nana and Papa memories. The girls are growing up so fast. They are so talkative and love to sing. We took walks, read books, played games and enjoyed many precious moments.  Tom helped our son with a few home improvement jobs as well.

Teen Missions hosted two groups that assisted in putting up our Big Top tents. Our grandchildren who visit weekly were so excited to see the “BIG” tents. Ollie (4) loves to ride his little bike with training wheels through the tent shouting at the top of his lungs because he loves the echo.

MAY

On the first Saturday of May, Teen Missions hosted our Annual 5K Mud Run. This year we had over 700 paid registrations and over 630 participants. The feedback was incredibly positive and the day was enjoyed by all. Tom helped with the timing for the competitive runners and I manned the Food Booth. All of the proceeds will go to our overseas bases to assist with famine and medical needs. It is such a blessing to host this event each year.

Our beautiful daughter, Kalah turns 40 on May 7. We are so blessed by her. She is a gifted teacher who won “Teacher of the Year this year” (WHOO HOO). She continues to be the joyful one of our family.  She shares a birthday with the ministry of Teen Missions.  Teen Missions which celebrated 55 years. It’s hard to believe we have been on staff for 47 of those years. Tom and I have considered it such a privilege to serve!  May HE find us faithful!

SUMMER

We are excited that 300 teens and leaders will be participating on mission trips all over the world. The first team to Rwanda is going this year. Tom and I did the set up for this team back in 2019 and then COVID hit and put the project on hold. We are grateful to see the team finally go. We are assigned to the home office “Launch Team” again this year. We will both have multiple Boot Camp responsibilities doing the things we love. I appreciate your prayers as I teach classes and mentor teens and leaders.  For the duration of the summer we will assist here at the base, as well as maintain the responsibilities of our departments.

We are so grateful for our ministry partner team!!!! THANK YOU for your faithful prayers and financial support. We are richly blessed and loved!

Because HE Lives,

Tom and Linda Maher
