Trey & Mary Watts Newsletter (Spring 2025)
Greetings Friends and Family!
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but summer is right around the corner! It’s been a busy and blessed season since our last update, and we’re excited to tell you about all that God has been doing.
Spring Break times THREE
This spring, we had the unique privilege of being part of three different spring break teams working here at the TMI Florida base. Each team was a tremendous blessing, helping us with preparations for the Mud Run and Boot Camp.
In March, we were especially excited to be able to co-lead the TMI Florida Spring Break team. The all-boys team stayed on the property and contributed greatly to various tasks around the base. Together, we worked hard, studied Scripture, and enjoyed Bible studies, games, and moments of rest. We also had the chance to connect with the sojourner students and join them for their night of evangelism at Cocoa Beach.
In April, we had the blessing of hosting two more Spring Break teams. What made these teams extra special was that they came from our denomination. While most of the participants were familiar faces, there was one new face, and for several, it was their first visit to TMI. It’s always such an encouragement to reconnect with familiar faces—whether they’re people we know personally or friends we’ve made through the ministry here.
The second team had the opportunity to help set up Big Top. As the saying goes, ‘many hands make light work’, and we’re always grateful for the extra help! There’s something truly special about being under that Big Top tent, knowing all the ways it will be used in the weeks to come.
Summer 2025 Teams
Speaking of Big Top, we’re now on the countdown to Boot Camp and summer teams! This summer, nearly 300 people—team members, leaders, and leader kids—will head out to serve in 13 countries.
Would you join us in praying for those going, as well as for the families sending them? This is a huge commitment and an incredible opportunity. Please pray for good health, spiritual perseverance, boldness, and financial provision for everyone involved. We also ask for your prayers for the people who will be impacted by this ministry around the world—that God would be glorified and that many would be drawn to Him.
As a reminder, the Watts family will serve on three separate teams. Trey and I will lead the Rwanda team, with JC and Ellie joining us as leader kids. Sadie will be heading to Cambodia and Clara to Romania. We praise the Lord for how He has provided financially for their trips. Sadie and Clara are paid in full! JC and Ellie have a little more left to cover their expenses. As staff, Trey and I are paid for. If you would like to give towards their balance, you may give online (under ‘trips’) or mail in the attached coupon. Just cross out our name and write theirs. Thank you to everyone who has already given! You are a part of what the Lord will do in those places this summer!
You’re Invited!
You’re invited to join us during Boot Camp! There are several ways to stay connected with what’s happening. Each night, you can join us virtually for the rally via the Teen Missions International YouTube page. Rally is the highlight of the day for many, where we come together for some fun with the game of the day, hear updates on “Miss Piggy”, and find out which team won the Obstacle Course. Then we transition into a time of singing, worship, and a challenging message from the night’s rally speaker.
Another way to be a part of the excitement is by joining us virtually for our special Commissioning Service on June 28th. If you can only watch one night, make it this one! At the end of the service, we’ll have a time of prayer and blessing over the teams. Then, the lights will be turned off, and each person on a team will light a candle to signify their willingness to go and serve. One by one, the teams exit the tent while singing “This Little Light of Mine”, with some heading straight to the airport. It’s a deeply moving moment—just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.
And your third option is even better—join us IN PERSON for the Commissioning Service! Arrivals start at 4 p.m., so you’ll have a chance to visit before the service begins. If you’re interested, let us know and we’ll send you all the details!
As always, we are deeply thankful for your continued prayers and partnership. You are a vital part of what God is doing in our lives and through Teen Missions. We’re excited to see all that He has in store for this summer! Thank you for walking this journey with us.
With love and gratitude,
Trey & Mary
