These past few days have been full of preparation for the field. The last day of training was Thursday, and Friday the teams started to pack out and take down boot camp. Zambia worked on preparing the Big Top for commissioning by adding a couple hundred chairs, and in the afternoon the team members prepared to move into the dorms and began to organize their stuff for packing. Saturday was an exciting day - commissioning! The morning was spent taking down the tentsite, which everyone was very happy about. That afternoon the team was able to move into the dorms before getting ready for pre-commissioning parking duty. During commissioning, each team member lit a candle to symbolize the spreading of the Gospel throughout the world. The night ended with a pizza party, and the team got to spend their first night in the AC! Sunday we took down Big Top, and in the afternoon took a field trip to the laundromat. The team has been doing their laundry in buckets for the past two weeks, so this was a special treat :) We finished packing up on Monday, and made it safely to the airport around 5 pm. Our flight to JFK leaves early tomorrow morning, from which we’ll head to Nairobi and then to Ndola! Please be praying for safe travels, and that all of the bags make it to our final destination safely and in one piece. T
hank you for all of your prayers!
Hey everyone! We leave for Zambia tomorrow, and I am so excited to see how the Lord will work. Throughout boot camp, God taught me how to praise God continually as Psalm 34:1 states. He has already blessed me with so much, and I anticipate many more. To God be the glory! Bye! Sophia G.
Hi everyone! Missing you all. Things are going well. Little stressful as we pack up our stuff… But now we are headed off to Zambia. Sooo excited. Thank you all for your continued prayers. Love you all. Kenna P.
I’m excited and nervous to go to Africa and share the gospel. I’m also excited to see what God will do through me. I am also wondering what I will see in the clinic. And I’m very excited to give people glasses. Jesse F.
Hi guys TMI is great and I love the OC (obstacle course). God works in my life through the worship here. Enoh M.
Boot camp was hard, but it was all worth it to get to commissioning night. The candlelighting service is something else. I am eager to put to use the skills I learned here, and am now “all in” in my walk with the Lord. I’m ready to help, share, and encourage others for Christ, even though it seems scary; and the best part about it is I’ll have a whole team alongside me the whole time. William B.
