Bob Lane Newsletter (Winter 2025)

Happy New Year to all my family and friends! I wish you good health and hope that the love of Jesus fills your life.

Over the Christmas holidays Teen Missions ran Boot Camps in Zambia, Australia, Colombia, Bolivia, Honduras, Peru, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa. Some countries have multiple Boot Camps in different regions running simultaneously so that’s 16 Boot Camps with 78 teams and over 1,600 team members. It is incredible to witness what God is doing through Teen Missions staff worldwide as they work to inspire and equip a new generation to boldly proclaim salvation in Christ alone.

I have battled a few health issues with my left eye when a blood vein ruptured. It left me unable to read from it, but I could see okay in the distance. The VA has provided me with new glasses which have a stronger lens for my left eye. I’m thankful that it has helped my sight some so that I am able to read my Bible.

In November I was able to gather up winter clothing and food items for the people in North Carolina. With a full van, I drove up to distribute the much-needed items to those who had lost so much in the floods. The devastation there was huge. Please pray for those who are still dealing with the destruction, as they try to get their lives back to normal.

I keep busy with various activities. I still go into Teen Missions to teach the Travel Class to those who are attending the Leader Training Seminar. I am finishing my book about Betty’s life story and hope to have it published in April. Painting is another hobby of mine that I enjoy, as well as gardening in my yard. Going fishing with my 14-year-old great grandson is a pleasure. He also plays baseball and has made the All-Star team the last two years.  So, it’s fun to watch and cheer him on.

Unfortunately, I had a bad water leak in the kitchen wall. It ruined the floor, so that had to be replaced.

In January the weather turned cold (for Florida) and rainy, so I stayed home by the heater. Now the sun is shining and it is warm.

I have been going through our team pictures and reminiscing about the wonderful times Betty and I had as leaders.  As they say, “Those were the good old days”. Looking at the pictures reminds me of all the great experiences we had during Boot Camp and on the field with our teams. I would do it all over again.

My prayer for the new year is for my family and friends to repent and ask Jesus to be their Savior. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. (John 14:6). You don’t come to Jesus by any church or any other book. He is the only way. He loves you and me and He died for us. He will return for us.

Thank you for your love and prayers for my health. I will turn 94 on March 3rd. Praise the Lord that I am still able to drive and more importantly, I’m still able to share about Jesus with all those around me.

Love in Christ,

Bob Lane
