Seth & Emily Phippen Newsletter (Winter 2026)

Countless lives have been changed through the Gospel of Christ. Staff at Teen Missions declare the glory of God in salvation to all who will hear. Let me share two recent stories from Zambia about how lives are being transformed.

After visiting Teen Missions, Pastor Arnold of Mapalo church shared that seeing teens during their missions training at Boot Camp really encouraged him. “The lessons they learned while helping each other during the obstacle course, building teamwork, communication, and trust was unforgettable. It really gave me a great picture of how others help us, so we need to turn around and help others also. I understand why teens love Teen Missions Boot Camp and the reason they want to participate every year.” He encouraged the Teen Missions staff to keep on doing the work that God called them to.

One day, while the Truth team was sharing the Gospel door to door, they came to a house with an older woman named Bana. With joy, Bana welcomed members of the team into her home and shared how happy she was to have them, with their Bibles in her home. Bana shared that she feels isolated and avoided by people in her village. She shared with the team that she used to go to church years ago, but she stopped when rumors about her being a witch started spreading. She said, “This accusation made me feel broken, ashamed, and uncomfortable.” In Africa, it can be common for old people to be accused of being a witch simply because they are elderly. Some people assume that if a person is old, they must have used witchcraft to get to that age. Bana allowed the members of the team to share the Word of God with her, and after hearing the Gospel of Jesus, she gave her life to Christ! The team also encouraged her to go to church. After this, the team shared the story of Bana with the pastor of the church where the team was staying. He promised the team that he would visit the Bana and welcome her to the church he pastors!

Family News

Seth continues to work hard at Teen Missions, communicating with, training, and equipping our overseas directors. The kids are still homeschooling and loving it, especially the freedom to spend time playing outside with friends. We also have some exciting news to share about our family: we are expecting our fifth baby! Emily is due in July, which means we will be staying in Florida this summer. We are so thankful for this season and all that God is doing in our family.

You are making a difference!

We are grateful for what the Lord is doing through TMI. Thank you for your unwavering support. Your partnership is essential for us in this ministry.  Your dedication to making a difference in the lives of young people around the world is truly remarkable.

Prayer Corner:

1. Pray for the teenagers who were trained through Teen Missions this year.

2. Pray for God to continue to use Emily and me in His ministry.

3. Pray that our family would share God’s faithfulness with boldness every day.

4. Pray for baby Phippen to grow healthy.

Thank you for your involvement in what God is doing! We couldn't do this without you.

If you’re interested in joining this work, let us know! We would love to share more about how you can be involved and become part of what God is doing through us with TMI. We are looking to grow our partnership team. We need individuals, families, and churches that will partner with us financially and through prayer.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Seth & Emily Phippen,

James, Lauren, Emma, Sadie, and baby
