Thursday and Friday of this past week was a much slower pace. Thursday night was the one and only time it rained our whole time in Albania, but it was a downpour! The camp staff were so helpful to get us extra sleeping bags and dry bedding for the wet tents. We were able to complete our Bible study classes. We’ve been studying Psalms and Proverbs this summer. For the gender-separated God’s Gentleman and Growing in Grace classes we switched leaders. The team members asked the leaders some annonymous questions and had some good laughs and discussion. The team enjoyed spending some extra time visiting with the Albanian people at the camp over the last couple days playing board games with them and also volleyball. The bonding time that they had together made it especially hard and teary to leave on Friday night. We had a time of prayer and blessing with everyone before climbing on the bus for the three hour ride to the airport. They have been so flexible and have had great attitudes during tough situations like a crowded three hour ride. Our travel back to Florida was uneventful, and we’ve had a nice time settling into the air conditioned dorms. This morning we attended a local church and are eating lunch at a diner while our laundry gets cleaned at the laundry mat. We’re looking forward to our classes this week to prepare us to go home.
Everyone had mixed feelings about going home!
Albania arrived safely at Debrief.
Emmalyn R God has worked in amazing ways during the trip! For example, we went to the only women’s prison in Albania and we painted the wall. And as we did we sang and one of the lady’s in the prison heard us and got saved that night. He also taught me to lean on him. That he wants to help me. He showed me love when I didn’t feel it. GIF works in amazing ways!
Ankita H Hello everyone! We are back in the states at Debrief. We arrived yesterday at Boot Camp around 9 pm. Our time in Albania was amazing! We saw God’s hand working all the time. It started all the way from when we left boot camp and when we stepped out of the bus back here. It went by so fast! We did a lot in a little amount of time. The Pastor, Emrir, and his wife Vita were so amazing and helped us so much! From the disability camp to the family camp. We miss them a lot! This morning we went to a local church which was really good. And now we are at a diner for lunch. To my family: I love you all so much can’t wait to see you!!
