Colombia team has been busy!

We’ve officially completed our first week, and the Colombia team has been busy! This week, the team met one another and quickly dove into training for the summer. They’ve come together incredibly well, building strong connections and growing in unity with each passing day. It has been amazing to witness how quickly relationships have formed and how committed they are to working together.

From the Obstacle Course to learning count-off and participating in classes, they’ve embraced opportunities to encourage, correct, and support one another. Here’s a glimpse of what a typical day has looked like:

The team is up at 5:30 AM, and impressively, the girls are usually ready before the boys—something that’s left us leaders very impressed! From the tent site, they head straight to the Obstacle Course where they begin strategizing. The boys are especially focused on improving their timing and getting the entire team to the Wall as efficiently as possible. On Orientation Day, they successfully got every team member over the Wall safely—and they’ve set their sights on doing it again!

After the Obstacle Course, we head to breakfast, followed by personal devotions at 7:30 AM. Then it’s off to Bible Hour. This week, they’ve had a block-laying class, which takes up the remainder of the morning, followed by lunch. After lunch is Free Time and bath/laundry time. On Friday, they had KP and cleaned the bathrooms—but were rewarded with a refreshing swim in the pool!

In the afternoons, the team takes Advanced Evangelism class, where they’re learning how to share the Gospel not just this summer, but back home too. They’ve also begun Music Class, where they’re working on their presentation for Colombia. This presentation is a powerful evangelism tool they’ll use in churches, schools, parks—anywhere they go!

This morning, we had a beautiful church service by the lake, and we’re ending the day with a fun treat—pizza and milkshake night!

As we head into our second and final week of Boot Camp, our schedule will change, and we’ll begin preparing to depart for Colombia. Please keep our team in your prayers—that they would finish strong! Boot Camp is tough, but they’ve been handling everything thrown their way with strength and grace.

"The Lord's Boot Camp 2025 summer and these past days we've done much bricklaying and music as examples creating layered schedules and a healthy habit of waking early. Many animals roam these jungles as we sleep and eat and I've been witness to such sightings. Hydration is certainly more common here than anywhere else. It certainly has been important too. We are unable to find time for the Lord as humans so we've made time here at Boot Camp as a habit, human nights and hot days ahead at Boot Camp"- Levi F.

"Hi everyone, it's Pearl! Boot Camp is hard but fun. We've learned how to lay blocks and block laying in class and we are able to build a wall professionally. Our team is getting along really well and we do great on the obstacle course. I've made it over the wall twice and haven't fallen into the water once. The bugs are bad but we will survive and we can't wait till we go to Columbia. To mom and dad Henry Hula and Sunny: I love you!"- Pearl H.

"Hey guys, it's Elise, we now have six more days left at Boot Camp. We've been having fun while working hard, learning new skills, and learning more about each other. We have completed our three music classes, blocking classes, and advanced evangelism. We learned a song called, "Yo Tango Tanto" to sing for the kids in Columbia. The mosquito bites have been irritating, but we are making it through." - Elise
