The Madagascar team has officially completed Boot Camp! Thursday marked the final official day, and the team finished strong. They won the Obstacle Course in five out of seven times! We were also joined by two volunteers from India who ran with us during the last two days, making for a fun finish to the week. Yesterday, the team packed up and stored the Boot Camp office, and today they took down the tent site. Tonight, they'll be moving into the dorms for some well-earned comfort. We're all looking forward to tonight's Commissioning Service. After the service, we'll celebrate together with a party before our team helps take down the stage and lights. Then they'll head to their air-conditioned rooms for a short, but good night's rest. Tomorrow we'll pack all of the food and equipment into the duffel bags. After dinner, we'll be bused to Orlando International Airport, where we'll spend the night before flying out the following morning.
Parents: Please be sure to answer any calls tomorrow night or early Monday morning from 423, 712, 919, or 540 area codes, as those may be from your student or a team leader.
In the last few days, the Lord has been working in my life in many ways. He has made me a better worker, a better teammate and a better friend. God has been showing me ways that I can be made into a better Christian man. I am so blessed to have this amazing opportunity. -Jonah M.
Boot Camp has been nothing like I expected. The weather, the training, the culture, and the people are definitely not what I imagined. However, I have had an amazing time meeting teenagers who talk about God in every conversation. Learning to work with my team on a difficult but super fun Obstacle Course, and getting into a real habit of being with God personally every single morning has been a blessing. I can say that it is not for the weak and not for everyone, but I would recommend it to anyone I could. God has worked in me so much this past week and I cannot wait to see what He has in store on the mission field! - Stasia K.
