As our time in Australia came to a close, we were thankful for one more week filled with opportunities to serve, build relationships, and share the love of Christ. Throughout the week, our team continued serving the local communities in practical ways. We cleaned the beach in Umagico, spent time playing with children and sharing the Gospel at a local park, and completed several landscaping projects around the property where we were staying. From spreading mulch and pulling weeds to removing overgrown bushes and burning brush, our team was grateful for every opportunity to serve the communities that had so warmly welcomed us. Before beginning our journey home, we had the opportunity to experience some of the incredible beauty of northern Australia. We traveled along rugged red dirt roads, crossed rivers, and made our way to Pajinka—the northernmost point of the Australian mainland. After climbing over the rocky headland, we were rewarded with breathtaking views stretching across the Torres Strait. The day concluded with a seaside meal at beautiful Punsand Bay. The following day, we once again traveled the remote roads of the Northern Peninsula Area to enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Fruit Bat Falls, a memorable way to conclude our time in this remarkable part of the world. After packing up our camp, it was time to begin the long journey home. We traveled by ferry to Horn Island Airport before flying through Cairns, Brisbane, Los Angeles, and Orlando, before finally boarding a bus back to Teen Missions. As we reflect on our weeks in Australia, we are overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness. He provided safety throughout thousands of miles of travel, strengthened and unified our team, and opened countless doors for ministry. We were privileged to partner with local churches, serve Indigenous communities, share dramas, songs, testimonies, and the Gospel, build friendships with children and families, and demonstrate Christ’s love through practical acts of service. We know that while our time in Australia has come to an end, the seeds of the Gospel that were planted will continue to bear fruit long after we have returned home. We are incredibly thankful for all that God has done in and through our team this summer. He has challenged us, stretched our faith, deepened our dependence on Him, and allowed us to witness His work in ways we will never forget. Thank you for faithfully praying, giving, and encouraging us throughout this journey. Your partnership made this mission possible, and we are grateful for the role you have played in what God has accomplished. Please continue to pray for the churches and communities we served, that God would continue His work in their hearts and that His name would be glorified.
We return home with hearts full of gratitude, praising God for His faithfulness and the privilege of serving Him in Australia.
Aine C. - I'm going to miss this team so much! I've really enjoyed traveling with world with them. Debrief has been so relaxing and meaningful and the air conditioning has been a blessing. I can't wait to go home and see my family and friends. Don't worry, you guys, you will only have to miss me for a little longer.
Kaleigh F. - This summer has been a blast! I love my team so much and I'm so sad our time together is coming to an end. Debrief so far has been chill and relaxing. One thing that has happened during being back in the US is that I got to reunite with my little sister! I can't wait to see my family and friends and my dog and tell them all about what God has done in Australia.
Kai F. - This team is so amazing! I will miss them so much. It has been such a blessing and an amazing experience being with them this summer. I have grown in my faith so much and each team member has helped me in a different way. I'm so excited to go home, but I will miss everyone that I met here.
