Presentations, Beach, and Birthday!
The team has been having a lot of fun since our last report. First things first! Eliana and Ethan got their bags from the airport. They were both such troopers while they were missing but are definitely glad to have them back. We finished out the week at the camp for the disabled. We were very proud of the team members as they prayed for healing for some of the camp participants. They had a good time getting to know the few of them that were there and sharing a meal with them in the evenings. They’ve been working pulling weeds around the rental and church and organizing at the church. We were able to go to the beach for an outing on Saturday. They had a lot of fun building a giant sandcastle together. Vita, the Pastor‘s wife, was so kind to buy us all ice cream, and they found an actual shower to rinse off and wash their hair in. It’s the little things they are learning to be grateful for! Last night the team gave a presentation in the village town square and spread the news about the kids camp this l coming week. They enjoyed talking with the kids afterwards and making balloon animals for them. They are eager to start a game of football with them one of these days. Tonight we are celebrating Liam‘s birthday. He led evening devotions last night and did a wonderful job encouraging the team. We are getting ice cream to celebrate his birthday because that is his favorite dessert. Afterwards, we went to the town where the pastor’s other church is to do the presentation again and invite more kids to camp tomorrow! They were able to share some booklets and tracts with people and make some good connections. The team is working wonderfully together on their presentation practice. They are all gaining so much insight in their relationships with God. It is inspiring. Please keep praying for us! We are wanting to be effective witnesses for Jesus here.
Ethan Y. Hi. This trip has taught me patience, perseverance, and how to live without a bag. This team showed me that there are still kind people around when you need them.
Shendoah R. Hi everyone! I’m going to share what God has been teaching me in this mission trip real fast. Boot Camp and the field has been super mentally and physically exhausting. You’re constantly moving, serving and sharing. But this builds our characters. I’ve seen my teammates grow so much as well as myself, and our leaders have helped every step of the way. The unit we have is so unique and everyone builds upon each other and works together for the glory of God. We are doing great and will be back soon till then :) :) :) :)
