Rwanda Team

It’s bright and sunny here at the LORD’s Boot Camp, and the Teen Missions Rwanda team is full of anticipation as we prepare to pack out and head to the field.

Since today was Sunday, Boot Camp held its annual sunrise Galilean church service by the lake. The team gathered early to worship and pray together. This service is an important tradition that helps prepare everyone for the week ahead.

Training is going well, and each team member is gaining confidence in their classes.

We’re now halfway through Boot Camp and already seeing how closely the team has bonded in such a short time. We’re especially proud of their work ethic during construction classes. Whether it’s hands-on building or learning in puppet and drama classes, the team is showing enthusiasm and a great attitude. While there have been a few ups and downs in team efficiency, it’s clear that everyone is doing their best and learning to work together more effectively. A recent example of this was a one-hour work project moving plywood and four-by-fours from an old eating area. With minimal direction, the team communicated well, divided the workload, and finished the job quickly and efficiently. Their initiative and teamwork were truly impressive.

It’s a joy and honor to lead this group and to watch how God is shaping each of them. We are excited to soon be in Rwanda, serving in the LORD’s name, and seeing how He uses this team for His glory. Only six days left until Commissioning! Here are a few updates from our team members—enjoy reading what God is doing in their lives.
Isaiah 6:8 –
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'"

"It's been going pretty good. The humidity isn't great, but the preparation that they have been giving us for overseas is different (in a good way.). I'm getting truly excited about going to Rwanda and spreading the Word." -Marcus M.

"Boot Camp is going great, I love the order and discipline in the camp. Not only that, but the weather has been good. Praise the LORD! Some things that have been really enjoyable are the OC and daily devotions. For the OC, I love the way it demands physical fitness, skill, and teamwork, it bonds the team together and builds them up. For the daily devotions, I love that we have time set aside for everyone in Boot Camp to do it at the same time, doing this makes the camp so quiet and creates a sense of unity. Boot Camp has been so fun! Thanks Mom and Dad, I'll see you soon." -John A.

"Hi family, I am doing well. As I am writing this, it is Sunday and I can't wait for milkshakes! Love you all!" -Jacob

"Hey Mom and Dad! Boot Camp is going well. I've fallen in the Slough every day so far, but it's actually nice because it makes it less hot. I love Boot Camp, but I can't wait to go to Rwanda where it will be cooler!" -Bea S.

The Rwanda team arrived safely at Debrief, and are settling in.
