Settling in at TMI Philippines

Praise the Lord, we arrived safely at TMI in Butuan on Wednesday around lunch time. We have all of our luggage, and we didn’t have any issues with travel. For that we are very grateful! The coordinators at the base had a nice lunch waiting for us. After lunch, the head leaders made a trip to town to get supplies/groceries while the rest of the team unpacked in their rooms. By the time we server dinner, everyone was wiped out from the long travel and ready for bed. Thursday, we slept in some to help recover from lack of sleep during travel, and we started making preparations for what our schedule will look like throughout the month. Today (Friday) we have started our first official workday with a quick snack at 5:30am, and we will be eating breakfast in 30 minutes. Because it gets so hot here, we will be working early morning until lunch time each day. We have one team member serving with us in the kitchen each day and the rest of the team will rotate praying in our prayer closet during work hours. Everyone seems excited to be here. Pray for us to recover from jet lag quickly and that we continue to be healthy and bond as a team.

Rebecca M. - The weather has been nice. The people here are so wonderful and sweet. I’m already loving it here!

Cristabella (leader): Wow, we serve a good God! Although our flights were long, by the grace of God, we made it to the beautiful TMI base of Butuan. All of our luggage arrived on time, we had no delays, and the team members are incredible evangelists for the Kingdom of God. It was a joy to see all seven of them getting excited and taking initiative to pass out tracks in the airport. My team was definitely sent from the Lord; they are an answer to prayers. I know that the Lord will do amazing things in the life of the two team members that didn’t fly with us. They too, were in my prayers continuously so I know the Lord will work mightily in and through them as well this summer. Thank you parents for entrusting your kids for the work the Lord is doing here in the Philippines. I don’t take this leadership position lightly. I’m deeply honored to get to know everyone single one of the team members. All glory to God!
