Crystal clear deep blue water with rocky beaches, salty breezes shacking the palm trees and knocking down fresh cocoanuts. Sounds like the perfect place for flip flops and… clunky boots? That’s right the Australia team from Teen Missions Florida is here serving the Moa community. The team is being hosted by a local church called the Light house Church and they have really out done themselves in welcoming us in to their community. They have spoiled us with an abundance of food, including fish head soup (yum!). They have continually thanked us for serving and fellowshipping with them. They have called us their American family. We have been staying in a raised house, where there is a constant flow of busy team members, cooking leaders, and ocean breezes flowing through the open windows. The yard has been full of the boys tents, laundry lines, and coconuts ready for husking. The team has diligently served the community by doing trash cleanups around the town and down the beaches. The team has also been evangelizing and going on prayer walks. The team has also gotten the chance to be apart of a cultural gathering where the men gather and fish and the women gather and make coconut oil and scones and other such crafts, then at the end of the day we all got together and feasted on sea turtle steak. We also got the chance to lead two church services where we lead worship, preach the sermon, and lead kids ministry.
Next week, we will be going to Badu Island, where we will be serving the community there!
Brayden B. Hey, we’re having an amazing time in Australia. We just left Mill Island and the people there were fantastic and we made so many friends and we learned so many things. The girls on Saturday learned how to make coconut oil and weave baskets and it’s been such a great experience. Also, miss you family!
Brock L. Hello, I’m having a great time here in Australia. It’s probably one of the best experiences of my life. It’s been so cool to get a mingle with the indigenous people. We were just in Moa now were on Badu and it’s been so cool to get a worship with the people. I got an opportunity to evangelize to one of the guys. me and a couple of of my other teammates We got to pray over him. So that’s really cool and it’s just so beautiful here. I’m having a really good time. Love you, mom and dad and seven other siblings so see you guys when I get home. Bye guys.
