We finally made it to our project site this afternoon!
As we rounded the bend in the road, we could hear music and then we saw them…so many children and people from the community were here waiting to greet us. It was a beautiful site to see! We unloaded our bus, and practiced our songs quickly. The community planned to have a presentation for us and then, wanted us to have a presentation as well. They gave us seats of honor at the front of the crowd and treated us like such special guests. They performed a national song and dance for us. Then, our kids taught them one of the boot camp favorites, “I will call upon the Lord”. It was fun to see everyone, even some of the adults, doing the motions. After that, they performed a drama to the story of David and Goliath.
After the welcoming ceremony, our main goal was to get a fire started for supper and get our tents set up. We are sleeping in classrooms, but for extra protection from any mosquitoes, we are also inside tents.
Everyone unpacked and we finished the evening with a pot of beef stew.
After a long day on the road, and two days in the capital, everyone is glad to finally be able to settle in.

The team has already had two “on the fly” Evangelism presentations and they have been great about being ready for whatever is asked of them.
