We have begun building the greatest wall in Asia!

We have begun building the greatest wall in Asia! After some struggles with our work project from supply shortages and miscommunications with the local Indonesians, the team has found a flow on both works sites. The retaining wall officially has all of its pillars up and the team has just started laying rocks and mortar today, getting quite a bit done! The outdoor dining area has the majority of its supports up and the previous roof has been removed and we are projected to get so much more finished! Every team member and worksite leader has been putting in full effort to complete as much good work as possible. If you were curious we always have one team member in the kitchen with Miss Lily and Mrs. Delaynie, one in prayer closet, three with Mr. Will on the outdoor dining center, two mixing mortar and three working on the wall with Miss Zoey and Mr. Aiden. It is always full effort from every leader and member when you only have a team of 10! Things are very peaceful on the base and during free time team members can be found playing Ditch Blitz brought by Julia H. or volleyball brought by Isaiah W. with the nationals. On Wednesday night the team had the opportunity to go out to dinner again and eat foods like “double chicken steak crispy” and fried duck head (no one got the second option, but I thought I should mention it). After dinner the team traveled to the local puppet masters house and got to learn about Wayang, a traditional puppet style originating in India. The puppets are beautifully painted buffalo skin characters that are used to tell stories that have been passed down for hundreds of years. The puppet master, also known as a Dalang, let the team try out the puppets and shared a short story with us, ending with a time of questions, tea, and snacks. The team got back much later than usual and did not get to bed until 9:30 PM, but do not worry everyone got to sleep in. As we finish out this week we ask that you continue praying for our work projects as we only have 2 full workdays left and would love to have as much of the projects completed as possible. We also have the opportunity to go to a school on Friday morning and to a youth group in the evening to do some evangelism, so prayer is greatly appreciated. Finally pray for the strength and health of the team as we begin our pack out as we travel back to Jakarta and have the chance to do some sight seeing and fun activities on our way there.

God has shown through bootcamp and devos in Indonesia that my secret sins need to come to light in order for me to grow in my faith. I struggled with this because it felt like he was shaming me, but it was very beneficial for my faith walk. -Gray G

Hi, my name is Wade and this is my Indonesia 2026 testimony. The Lord has taught me a lot this summer over my trip. Such as boldness in my faith, trusting in God’s plans for me, and hearing and trusting God’s voice in times of spiritual dryness. I also have been learning how to worship God through playing my guitar everyday with my teammates. The Lord has also been speaking to me a lot through my devos, I have been really enjoying highlighting and marking notes in my Bible. So far a few of my favorite things that we have been doing in Indonesia is going to the supermarket and spending 14 dollars on food that I would have spent 40 to 50 dollars on in America. I also have been loving going out into town and enjoying Indonesian delicacies. Another fun experience has been working on digging and mixing concrete for the base. I have had so many amazing experiences this year with teen missions and can’t wait to see what else God is going to do in my life while in Indonesia. -Wade W
