Amanda Evans Newsletter (Winter 2023)

Hey Family & Friends,

Happy 2023!! Time again to write another update. This month we have been getting caught up with everything in the office—sending out tax receipts and support packets for the team members that are going on a team. I was assigned the Iceland team, but that has changed and right now, I don’t know where I’m going. Fluid and Flexible!!

Teen Missions has new opportunities to serve! We are offering a couple of Spring Break trips, one to Michigan and some trips in Florida. You can go to www.teenmissions.org and see all that is available. So, please pray more kids will take advantage of these opportunities.

Under The Bridge Homeless ministry (UTBM)

I’m still enjoying helping out with this ministry. It has been a great opportunity! I have learned and am learning new things. One of my jobs is to take care of the trailer that has the chairs, tables, plates, cups, utensils and other stuff that we use. I keep it organized when unloading and loading it. The rest of the time I may help someone with their plate of food or just talking to them. The last couple of months we had one of the homeless in the hospital from an accident; the truck he was driving blew a tire and it rolled. He is still in the hospital with a long recovery, so please pray for him.  Another man got hit by a car who I was talking to a half an hour before it happened and he died. These are just two stories of the homeless, but there are other stories from the homeless so please continue praying for them. Our main goal is to help the homeless and share the Gospel with them; letting God work through us!

Samaritan’s Purse Opportunities

During Thanksgiving week I was able to go volunteer again in Fort Myers by cleaning up and mudding out houses so a crew could come in to rebuild it. Then the next weekend I was able to volunteer in Punta Gorda. For both trips I went along with two different friends. We all enjoyed it and love helping the people. I want to do it again because there are still other opportunities.

Recap of Teen Missions 2022 Overseas Ministry!

One of our staff has put together some stats from the TMI ministry overseas.

*There were 1,532 team members and leaders who attended Boot Camps overseas with 3,181 salvations recorded.

*Our 38 Rescue Units care for children and adults who don’t have those who can care for them. They come to the unit and are helped with basic medical needs, teaching them to grow gardens, as well as spiritual needs. They ministered to 2,431 people and saw 3118 salvations.

*We have nine Matron Units which provide care for young girls who have to travel miles to get to school. The units are close to the school, so they can live there while going to school. 439 girls were cared for and 309 salvations were recorded.

*At this time, we have 471 Sunday schools. In 2022, 51,000 kids (and some parents), attended the schools with 75,004 salvations.

I have been enjoying all these opportunities, but the credit doesn’t go to me. It’s God working through me. Thank you for partnering with me as I serve the Lord with Teen Missions and the other opportunities!! I couldn’t do this without you.
