Fifa & Jessica Rakotovao Newsletter (Winter 2021)

Dear Family and Friends,

We want to thank you all for your love, support and prayers these past three months! There have been a lot of changes happening both good and bad, but through it all God has shown us He is in control of all things.

Thanks:

Thank you to all of you who have supported us this past year! Your prayers and support have both inspired us and helped us to make a difference here in Vangaindrano, Madagascar!

What’s New:

Since our last newsletter so much has happened! I am now six months pregnant with our baby girl! We were also requested from Florida to transfer to the northern Teen Missions base in Mahajanga after the unfortunate death of the Vangaindrano coordinator. After we help the new coordinators adjust to living here, we will move at the end of the month.

Labaony:

We took in a little girl named Labaony (pronounced La-bone). Her mom, who was a student, left her studies and her daughter here. We felt God telling us to take her into our home as our own. She adds such a different perspective to our lives! We are learning to both teach and admonish her to grow and learn in a way that honors God. She will be coming to join us in Mahajanga. Please pray for her as she’ll have to adjust to living in a new place and culture that is different than here in Vangaindrano.

Lessons from God:

God has been teaching us many things, but the big things have been to give more freely and to trust Him in all circumstances in our lives that arise unexpectedly.

Praises:

This past month, I was able to change my visa to permanent residency. Please pray that the government offices will get it back to us as soon as possible!

We were able to buy electricity in December! It is such a relief and blessing to be able to have this necessity once again!

We were able to see our baby in an ultrasound. The doctor told us that she is healthy and perfectly forming!

The effect of the Coronavirus has gone down and most things are back to normal here.

Prayer Requests:

The Madagascar economy is going to suffer quite a bit, as the borders are still closed to receiving imports and sending exports, which includes mail.

We were planning to come to the States for the birth of our baby, but as the airports are still closed and the Coronavirus seems to be getting worse in the States, it looks like we’ll have the baby in Mahajanga.

For a safe and healthy pregnancy for me and the baby. So far it has been pretty rough as the doctor found I am  anemic, have parasites and have had a lot of pain and low energy so far.

That we would be a light where we are and give our all for Jesus. And that we would grow in our spiritual walk with Him.

For our transition to Mahajanga to be smooth, and that through it all, we would find rest in the Lord, and seek Him as our rock and fortress, and trust Him!

Thank you all and God bless!
