Pat Storey Newsletter (Spring 2024)

Hello everyone,

Florida is heating up - literally! We have had a very nice spring with some nice weather, but it IS starting to get warmer and they are predicting very high temperatures this week. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying God’s blessings each day.

Here at Teen Missions, we have just finished our Mud Run and it was a huge success again. We welcomed 630 runners who enjoyed the muddy obstacle course. It had not rained here for a while, but that meant that the course was dry except where we wanted mud and that made it a very nice run.

The money raised from this event goes overseas to our Rescue Units and Sunday Schools and they purchase medicine, clothes, blankets and other items that will help underprivileged people who desperately need help. Some of it was used last year in Malawi to build a new house for an elderly grandma who was living in a small shack which was very unsafe, so the event can change the quality of life for many people.

Now, our attention will turn intensely to Boot Camp. Leader Training Seminar and our Leader Development Team arrive on June 11 and team members will be here July 18. It will come very soon and there is still a lot of work to be done. Right now, we have about 300 team members and leaders registered. Please pray with us for changed lives on these teams this summer. They will be going to places like Zambia, Tanzania, Taiwan and others for a total of 13 teams doing various projects.

I have been serving on the Program Committee. Our job is to review all of our programs, evaluate them and make recommendations for changes that should be made. It has been interesting, difficult and even fun, as we discuss the best way to teach and take care of today’s teens.

The remodeling at Teen Missions is continuing and recently, I have been working to re-organize one of our storage rooms and find new homes for everything stored there, so the space can be made into offices. We have welcomed several new staff recently and more will be coming soon so we are running out of places for them to work! What a blessing! In my department, my student, Sabrina, who has been working in my office for two years helping write reports to our Sunday School and Rescue Unit sponsors will be beginning her internship in August, which means I will have a new student only part of the time this fall. I also have a volunteer, Lori, who will be helping me with my auditing of overseas finances. She lives in Idaho and so will be working from there. I am looking forward to working with them because I’m sure they will help to give me some time to keep up with some other things much better.

I will again be serving on summer staff this year, helping to keep things going while our teams are gone on their trips and keeping up with finances going to our bases overseas as well as helping our finance department here while some of their people are also gone.

I am currently planning my deputation trip this August and looking forward to seeing many of you then. It is always fun to share what God has been doing through the ministry here

Thank you so much for all of your prayers and financial support. God always provides for each of us here at Teen Missions and He uses you to do it! I’m so thankful for the opportunity to serve here and the ways you encourage and help this ministry by helping and enabling each of the staff to be here. We have the hardest working staff anywhere and all of us are thankful that we can continue to do this very rewarding work.

I pray the Lord is working in your life and blessing you for your sacrifice as you serve Him! He gave ALL for us and I feel completely blessed that He would use me in His work here at Teen Missions International!

In Christ,
Pat Storey
