Robert & Dorah Yoder Newsletter (Fall 2022)

Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding.

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings in Jesus Name from South Africa. We want to thank God for His  goodness and mercy upon our lives. We pray and trust that you are all doing great as family, supporters and friends just as we are.

We want first of all to give thanks to the Lord, our God and King who reigns above all things. We thank Him for seeing us thus far indeed; He is our Ebenezer.

South Africa is doing okay by the grace of God. He has kept us safe from all the attacks of the enemy. We are currently in term six in our Bible school and we have five students—two South Africans, two from Burundi and one lady from India.  She is completing her two years of Bible school this term and next year she will be doing one year of internship. Also, this December, there will be four students who will be graduating. Two students would like to join us at Teen Missions and the other two will be joining other ministries.

It is now getting into our summer time. The trees are starting to flower and get their green leaves.  The swimming pool is up and running and we are very thankful for that. At the base we have started a garden where we are currently planting and growing cabbage, onions, beetroot, carrots, spinach and chillies. The vegetables will be used to feed our students and staff, and we usually have enough to give to our Sunday school children to help their families in times of need. This also gives the students an opportunity to learn about planting and taking care of the garden.

In ministry we have continued to teach children in our area about Jesus through the Circuit Rider ministry. We have been able to start a new location that is about five kilometers from the base. Even though it has quite a lot of children, our numbers are not so high right now as we are still meeting the parents and introducing ourselves to them so we can have a relationship with them and build trust. On Thursdays we also have a service we do for an Africon community called “Sonsky”. The response has been good with many coming to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. We also take the students out every Saturday to do evangelism in different communities around us.

Boot Camp is coming up in December with leader training starting on December 5th  and the teens coming on the 10th. We are so thankful and grateful to God about how the COVID situation is currently decreasing in South Africa.

Back to us as a family— by God’s grace we are doing well. This year God has allowed us to visit the USA as a family. It has been four and a half years since our last visit. We thank God for the opportunity to visit with some of you as we were able to do some deputation.

Finally we want to say thank you to all our supporters, family and friends for your generous support this year through prayer and giving. May God bless you all. We would love to see you all in person and say thank you, but we have been unable to due to limited time on this trip. Once again we want to say thank you so much for supporting us. We greatly appreciate you all. May God continue to bless you all and supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.

Robert, Dorah, Esther, Ethan, Elisha
