Steve & Gay Petersen Newsletter (Fall 2021)

Steve & Gay Petersen Newsletter (Fall 2021)

Dear Friends and Family,

COVID — NO MATCH FOR OUR FAITHFUL GOD!

With divine faith and courage, our teams, along with parents, churches, and supporters, took a step of faith during a pandemic, as we received over 200 youth and leaders for intense training at the Lord’s Boot Camp. The worship had a special anointing and the youth responded each night, praying and counseling with leaders.

FLUID & FLEXIBLE

As the training ended, the PCR testing began. In spite of extensive precautions (everyone coming onto the property came in with a negative test), we saw over 50 positive test results and a state-side “Dream Team” was born for those unable to travel overseas. Our Zambia team lost eight members to the Dream Team and soon after, gained nine new members from the Leadership Development Team (LDT). Our team of 25 teens and four leaders, built by divine appointment, unified quickly in Zambia and we saw how the talents of each member were a blessing to the whole team.

WORKING TWO FOUNDATIONS IN ZAMBIA

Mom and Dad were our host missionaries at the Ndola base. We began digging footers for two buildings—an ablution (bath & shower building) and a large meeting pavilion for the Retreat Center. We dug, tied steel, poured concrete, and laid the foundation blocks. During the last week, we joined forces with the Zambian staff and students to pour the entire floor by hand in one long session… What a day!

HIGHLIGHTS

In addition to seeing some of our team members preach their first sermon, we also treasured the opportunity to hold an impromptu evangelistic outreach on our sightseeing day. We shared music, drama, Bible stories and the plan of salvation using translation into Bemba. At the end of the summer, 10 of our teams tested negative and returned safely to Florida for Debrief.

TANZANIA… HERE WE COME!

Gay and I are being asked to spend almost two months (Oct 20 - Dec 12) in Tanzania to help with administrative adjustments and mentoring for our national staff and students. Faith is also going with us, so her homeschooling will continue while we are overseas. Our base in Tanzania does not have electricity (also a prayer item), but we are told they do have internet service.

PRAISE ITEMS

Answered prayers for travelling safety and good health while overseas this summer

For a unified, hard working team—built by divine appointment and a  true gift from the Lord

So much spiritual growth amongst the team members

For Timothy as he completed his first year of Bible school and was a first-time backup leader in Ecuador. In September he began his second year as a student at our Bible school.

PRAYER ITEMS

For anointing as I teach Personal Evangelism during term #3 at the Florida Bible school and serve in the Administration Office.

Also for Gay serving in Personnel, as Board Secretary, and homeschooling our daughter Faith.

For wisdom, favor, safe travels, and good health during our upcoming trip to Tanzania

For a miracle in our struggle to complete our registration and obtain land titles in Cambodia

For more laborers for the harvest (staff, students, volunteers, leaders and team members)

THANK YOU!

Thank you for your faithful prayer and financial support! We are unbelievably blessed to partner with you in this adventure of training youth and mobilizing end-time workers to reach the lost in these last days. To God be all the Glory!

Together in His Harvest,

Steve, Gay, Timothy & Faith Petersen
