Boot Camp is just about halfway over. The Tanzania team has been training hard and learning a lot. Since Boot Camp classes started this past Thursday (June 19th), the team has kept busy attending medical classes, as well as evangelism and drama classes. The team has also had four opportunities to run the Obstacle Course (OC). The Obstacle Course is very difficult but has taught the team to work together and rely on each other and God. The Tanzania team has continued to improve on the OC, even placing second on Friday evening. In the Medical classes, the team has learned about how to treat patients for various medical needs overseas in Tanzania. Classes on basic First aid, clinic setup, and eyeglass distribution, have been very helpful for the teens. In the evangelism classes, the team has learned many different ways to minister and spread the Gospel to the people overseas, as well as those in the airport and back home. Additionally, drama classes have been taught as another tool to spread the Word of Jesus through interactive plays and skits. Bible classes have also been held to continue to increase and grow the team individually as Christians. The Tanzania team has done extremely well at keeping tidy and clean! Last night the team placed second for the Miss Piggy award following two consecutive first place prizes which include dinner in the AC and popsicles as the reward. Morale is high and the team is bonding well and executing all they do to the best of their abilities. This morning, the team attended a waterside sunrise service as is tradition for the first Boot Camp Sunday. The kids are excited to celebrate the halfway point of Boot Camp with lots of pizza and a cold milkshake tonight!
Continue to pray for the Tanzania team as they attend classes and prepare for commissioning and flying out to Tanzania next Saturday. Glory to God!
A word from the Tanzania Team,
Hey there! We've been at Boot Camp for about a week and we've already learned so much! I've had lots of fun building team unity on the obstacle course and coming up with cheers for the rallies. God's presence has been moving so clearly through our team. I can't wait to see his plan in action on the field!! GO TANZANIA!!!!
