Happy Sunday from Rumphi, Malawi!

The pavilion is coming along nicely. It looks great and we are surprised how fast we've been able to accomplish our goals. The entire team has been amazing at working hard and doing each job to a high standard. We are grateful to be a part of the ministry that will happen under that pavilion. The team also started another project of working on the house that's used for the Orphan Unit.

Today, Sunday, is church day. The team has been practicing their presentation and they are amazing! It's so fun to have a team that loves music and drama. They performed beautifully in front of the congregation full of kids and adults. It was an incredible experience for us to visit a church that worshiped the Lord in a different language. Some of the songs were familiar and it reminds us that we all serve the same Lord. Mr. Tim preached again this morning and did a fantastic job.

The kitchen is working hard to make amazing meals that fill everybody up. Miss Beth and Miss Gabby know that food is a ministry and they take their jobs seriously. They also love to make fun things like no bake cookies and popcorn. Miss Gabby has proven to be quite an amazing baker. On Saturday, Bea and Miss Gabby baked a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting that was delicious!

The weather here continues to be amazing. We haven't had any rain and the day time temps are warm but bearable. In the evening it's hoody and blanket weather.

The sun sets fairly early here since it's winter on this side of the Equator, which we are extremely grateful for. That also means that every evening we are blessed with an amazing sunset. The sky always glows red, like the color of the soil throughout all of Malawi.

Star gazing is so amazing here! Doing our evening team devotions out under the stars continues to be a favorite. It's incredible to look up and see the billions of stars that God Created.

Another great thing about the Leader Development Team is the Bible verses and the quizzing. Since everybody knows their first year verses already, adding in the 2nd or 3rd year verses is definitely lower stress than 1st year. The knowledge of the verses that everyone has makes quizzing entertaining, and every quiz is intense and close competition.

Mr. Tim and Mr. Ethan are rocking our Bible study in Matthew on the Sermon on the mount. Miss Beth and Miss Gabby have hot water ready for the team so they can enjoy some tea or coffee while they listen and learn each morning.

Sadly we only have about five more days here at the Rumphi Base then we head back to the Chipoka base to start our sight seeing.

We have a very energetic and talkative team. It's been great seeing them interact and get to know each other.

Audrey: Malawi is beautiful and the people here are wonderful. God is teaching me so much about loving His children and the importance of serving even in mundane things. Hi Mom and Dad, and Rosie, love you all!

Josiah: These past few weeks in Malawi have been amazing! I have loved doing presentations for kids and working on the pavilion. During this time I feel the Lord has been teaching me to listen to what he wants me to do.

Alex: Malawi is so beautiful, and the weather is so nice. We had some challenges getting started on the project, but the Lord is clearly guiding us and we have made a ton of progress. On several occasions we have had opportunities to share the gospel with the local kids in fun ways and we can really see how much it encourages them. I'm so thankful for this opportunity to serve the Lord and to have close fellowship among the team and the students at the Rumphi TMI base.
