Hello from the Tanzania team!
The work project has been going very well, as the team has been working hard each day! On Monday, we made 25 concrete posts that the base will use to construct a fence around the property. The team got pretty messy with the concrete but had a good time mixing and pouring it into the wooden molds. We have also been hard at work hacking down bushes and trees and digging up stumps and roots to make room for a road. As it stands, there is a public road that runs through the base. Thus we are working to carve out a roadway that goes around in order to best protect the children and everyone who comes onto property.
As well as our work project, the team has been having a blast doing eyeglass work and Sunday school ministry with the children. Praise the Lord that we have handed out around 90 pairs of glasses and gotten the opportunity to pray for those receiving care. Our team members also enjoy getting to entertain the local children with their puppets, dramas, songs, and games. It has been wonderful to see the fruit of the training from classes at Boot Camp! Some of our favorite games are Duck Duck Goose and Do as I Do.
Back at the base, we have been eagerly practicing memorizing our 33 verses and practicing quizzing on the verses for debrief. Mrs. Dorah also got the opportunity to travel to the main TMI base at Moshi in order to buy food and supplies for our final week here in Jipe before we head back for our sightseeing on Sunday.
Please pray for our health, as there has been a bit of sickness going through the team. We would also appreciate prayers for the Lord to provide patients so that we can distribute all of our eyeglass resources and minister to many people in our last week.
We miss you and love you! Thank you for your prayers and support!
Time is literally flying here in Tanzania, we've been here for a little over a week and we've gotten to do so much. I've had so much fun with my team and even though there are about a trillion terrifying insects, I'm really enjoying it here in Africa! Miss you mom and dad! - Zoey F.
Hey mom and dad, I miss you guys and can't wait to see you. Tanzania is beautiful and the people are lovely. I have been enjoying doing eyeglass clinics and playing with the kids. God has revealed Himself to me in mighty ways and I can't wait to see all that He is going to do the rest of this summer. - Nora B.
Hi family! Tanzania is beautiful! We've gotten to meet a lot of people and minister to the children. It's been so fun and I can't wait to tell you guys more about it. I miss you all! - Catherine G.
The opportunity to minister to children and the elderly here in Tanzania has truly changed me. We have also been working hard to clear a road through the bush for the Rescue Unit here in Jipe. While the work has been hard, it helps me to pray for those who will drive and walk the road- that they would be blessed and receive the Gospel message. God has done so much in my team and I so far! - Charity J.
