Making our way to Budapest: Team Hungary Update

Greetings to the family and friends of the Hungary team! We have made it to our second location in Budapest. Overall, the kids are doing very well, and have been working hard. As of Friday, we finished our first English camp. The camp was a great success, and we are so proud of the team. It was amazing to see everyone step up and go outside their comfort zone. The kids really connected with the Hungarian students, and they were sad to say goodbye. On Saturday, the team was very excited about Independence Day. They must’ve sang the National Anthem a hundred times, and Huck M. even played it on his trumpet for us. They loved showing their patriotism. It was also Amaya G’s birthday, which worked out because it was our first sightseeing day! We got to go to the city, and everyone got to go shopping. They enjoyed getting cold drinks and snacks, especially the European Coca-Cola. We got burgers for lunch, and the workers and the team sang Amaya ‘Happy Birthday.’ Afterwards, we went to a waterpark and the kids got to hang out there for a couple hours. Today (Sunday), we went to our first church and the team got to perform a short presentation. They sang two songs and did the drama ‘Colors.’ What a joy it is to see the team worship the Lord together. Mr. Robert gave a short message, and afterwards the hosts served us a nice lunch before we travelled to Budapest. It’s been a busy time but the Lord has been so so good to us. We thank Him for giving us strength during our first week. It’s been great to get to know your teens and we look forward to how God is going to use and grow them individually and as a team this summer! Prayers would be appreciated as we begin our work projects this week. The team misses and loves you all. Blessings!

“In all my life, I have never experienced my faith such as I have here. Even though pain and annoyance have greeted me continually, I have had the company of some of the greatest Christians and friends I have ever known to help me through it. We have gone to several interesting places, and have done good work for the Lord here, and I firmly believe we will do more and more! Soli Deo Gloria,” -Judah W.

“Hungary has been such an amazing experience so far. Our first camp was so cool, getting to share God’s love to the children. It wasn’t always simple because of lesson planning and trying to keep all the kids entertained, but it was so worth it. Can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in the upcoming weeks.” -Katrina S.

"My first week in Hungary has been incredible! Teaching English has been amazing and the students learned so much! The people here are all so welcoming and they are all so kind. We have all grown so much closer with teaching and our group is amazing. We had amazing chances to sight see and experience Hungarian culture. I have seen students grow closer to God! All glory be to Him! It has been such an amazing experience serving God this first week!” -Simeon K.

“During my mission I am having so much fun! Going to water parks, and evangelizing, the Lord has worked in my life by changing my heart to be grateful for what I have.” -Brooke F.

“We praise God for how much he has blessed us with since our team has arrived in Hungary. The people here are welcoming and kind and we have enjoyed our first English camp very much. We’re glad to say that they were just as excited as we were. Please pray for our team to be able to be bold in sharing the Gospel and enlarge the kingdom.” -Huck M.

“This first week in Hungary, and it was quite eventful. Teaching English to the older kids was so fun! Let’s just say I’ve made lots of new friends! I got so many cute homemade gifts from them. I’m so sad our first camp is over, but I’m looking forward to the next one! We also got to go sightseeing! And don’t worry we got lots of pictures! Missing y’all so much much, looking forward to telling all the adventures we’re having!” -Juliette M

“My first week in Hungary went very well! The English camp went smoothly and it was amazing to see how God is working here! I have enjoyed experiencing Hungarian culture, and I am privileged to be a part of the best travel group, The Chads. Hungarians are such wonderful, although they do have different standards for water sports.” -Gabby B.
