We finished our work and ministry at Refuge of Hope on Saturday. We praise the Lord that we were able to finish the roof on the girls’ dorm as well as repair most of the ceiling on the inside. Painting projects were completed on several buildings as well, and the team also finished repairing the fence at the back of the property.
Several of the team were able to spend some time in the classroom with the students of the school during their last day before they were dismissed for their Winter break. Our team really bonded with the kids there. On Thursday evening we were able to participate in their game night, which was a blessing since we had to say goodbye to them on Friday afternoon.
It has been such a gift for us as leaders to spend the summer with this team. Their love for the Lord is evident as we’ve watched them grow. From listening to then share their individual devotions to watching them play with the Refuge kids to seeing them serve beyond our expectations, they have impacted our lives as leaders greatly. I (Mrs. Mary) will always remember the early mornings when I’d receive extra help fixing breakfast because they wanted to make work load lighter. We could share so many stories, and I hope you will enjoy hearing about their time when they return home.
Please pray for us as we go through Debrief, that everyone would be fully engaged and really get the most they can out of this final week together. Pray for continued good health, safety and spiritual growth. The Lord isn’t finished with our team yet. They are excited to return home, however we want to finish our time together strong and stay focused on what the Lord has for us. Look forward to hearing from your kids soon!
