Team Guatemala has arrived!

Guatemala is known as the land of eternal spring. The average temperature is 75 degrees. A light breeze whispers through the trees and dances among the flowers. On the way from the airport some of us saw a man walking his herd of goats through the city streets. Our missionary Matt informed us that you can stop him and he will milk the goats on the spot so you can take a bag of milk with you.

Unfortunately our team had some slight snafus en route. We arrived at the Orlando airport to discover that somehow there was no flight reservation for one of our members and our assistant leader. The two without tickets were quickly booked on the next flight out with the expectation that they would arrive about 30 minutes later than the team. However the plane the team was on had maintenance delays. After boarding and waiting for an hour they had to deplane and switch to another plane. Despite the snafus, God is faithful and provided for us every step of the way. The missionary was on hand to meet the two as soon as they exited customs and immigration. We had no problems with security and all of our bags arrived. Once the rest of the team joined us, we stopped at Walmart so that Mrs Holschen could buy some supplies and the team ate dinner at Taco Bell. Because of the delays, stops and four hour bus ride to our location we did not arrive at our project location until 12:30am. The team is tired but happy to be in our new location.
