India
Teen Trip ages: 13-19
Region: Southern Asia
Location: Vijayawada, India
Dates of Involvement: June 18 – August 2, 2024
Ministry Focus: Work Projects, Children’s Ministry, Evangelism, Cross-Cultural Missions
Picture this: You're about to spend your summer serving in India where vibrant cultures, distinctive landscapes and incredible people await. With over a billion people, it's the second-most populated country on Earth! But here's the kicker – it's also a place where the light of the Gospel needs to shine brighter.
This is a country with not just physical needs, but profound spiritual ones, too. As you join forces with your team this summer, get ready to share the Gospel with those trapped and blinded by their religious systems. Your heart will be forever changed as you connect with the people, share God’s love and bring hope to those who need it most.
So, are you up for the adventure of a lifetime?
Project Expense: $4990 U.S. plus $30 Registration Fee
Your team will be serving through work projects at the Teen Missions base in India. Many of your projects will be at the Bible school that is being run at the base. In addition, you will be assisting the Bible school students in their children’s ministries throughout the week. This will involve doing Gospel presentations with testimonies, music, puppets and dramas. The children you will be serving will capture your heart as you play games and build relationships. There may also be opportunities to walk to nearby villages to do street evangelism.
Following Boot Camp, your team will fly from Orlando to Delhi via London, England. From Delhi, your team will fly to Vijayawada, located in the Andhra Pradesh state. A short bus ride will take you to your project site in a village located outside of the city.
Following your project time, your team will fly to Delhi, the capital of India, where you will spend a couple of days shopping for souvenirs such as handmade brass, wood, and leather. There will also be an opportunity to travel by bus from Delhi to Agra and visit one of the Seven Wonders If The World—the Taj Mahal.
To cap off the summer experience, teams will return to the Teen Missions base in Florida for a shared Debrief time with other teams. The debriefing experience is essential to our program for team members and leaders. During Debrief, the teams engage in different classes, allowing them to reflect on their summer. In addition, we focus on fellowship, sharing their experiences with the other teams, and become equipped to take what they have learned on the mission field back home to their churches, youth groups, schools and communities. In addition, we focus on fellowship, sharing summer experiences among the teams and preparing them spiritually, mentally, and emotionally for their return home.
