Jess was born in Yaounde, Cameroon where she was raised as a third-generation missionary kid. When she was six, her family moved to Waxhaw, NC to work with JAARS. She is the oldest of two kids born to Paul and Christy Dubois.

Jess has a passion for showing others God's love and their value by developing friendships. She is always on the lookout for opportunities to come alongside others by participating in like-minded activities in the area.

Jess has spent more than two years of her life traveling on partner development trips with her parents, visiting supporters and family in 47 states. Between traveling with her folks and with TMI, Jess has been to 10 countries. She has been on two trips with TMI—2022 to Honduras and 2023 to the Philippines. When she was 12, God called Jess to work with kids who have gone through trauma from their caretakers, specifically between the ages of 10-19. Jess originally did not want to continue her family's missionary legacy, seeing a great need in the U.S., but then God turned her plans upside-down and led her to go to the Sojourner School of Ministry in the fall of 2022. She is currently in her second year of the program. For her third year of the program, which is an internship year, she plans to travel with fellow classmate Sabrina Clarkson to the Teen Missions base in Zambia for nine months and South Africa for three months. She is excited to see how God continues to meet her and others on her internship and to serve in whatever capacity the Lord allows.
