Another "front row seat" musing episode...

I am sitting here in the VERY HOT dining area. We just finished Bible Study and free time. The team is now starting to work on their Debrief Presentation. Over 150 pizza pockets are doing their second rising. As usual, I am hearing a lot of laughter.

A week from today, we will be in Siem Reap for sightseeing. Somehow that seems unreal. It has come to the point when the kids say they like something we made, more often than not, I tell them that it is the "last time you will see it". I have found that due to the heat and humidity, making bread is always a success!

The work project continues to progress. The front and two side walls are up to window level. The back wall has windows rising up three courses high. We have started grating the dirt around the parameter for the two meter-wide veranda around the building. The road is completed. We begin at 6 AM when it is much cooler. It doesn't take long to get really hot though.

Yesterday, part of the team went with the Circuit Riders for their ministry. They did singing, puppets, balloons and played games.

On Friday, we are planning a boat ride on Tonlé Sap Lake, also known as the Great Lake or Big Lake here in Cambodia. It is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and is located in the northwest of the Mekong River's lower basin in the Siem Reap Province. We are all excited about going!

We have had very few down 1-2 days with sickness, but it is nowhere near what I expected. They are all pretty good at staying hydrated. Bismark always makes them bring a full water bottle to Bible Study and it has to be empty by the time we leave. They all hate the dreaded "electrolyte packets". And some are learning to control their "street food" urges...

Sunday we will be visiting a church that the team visited last Sunday afternoon and they will be providing us lunch. The base will be providing dinner on Wednesday evening before we leave on Thursday.

The team continues to be excited about seeing their family and friends in a couple of short weeks. We are all trying to "live in the moment" of where we are and what God is doing in our llives as individuals and for us as a team.

Hello! I am having so much fun and I don't want this time to end! Working is so much fun and I am getting very close with the leaders and team members. We are getting a lot done and it is very cool to see what we have accomplished! -Luke M (i.e. "Lunchie)

Luke 10:27 - So He answered and said "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." Sometimes it's hard to love others, especially a bunch of tired and cranky teens, who are also amazing at building the boy's dormitory. But with hard work, it is sometimes difficult to control our emotions. This verse reminds me to continue turning to the Lord for strength, and to love as He does. So, I've learned that even though times might be hard, we still have to turn to the Lord in every situation and never leave His side. - Liz

My time in Cambodia has been very good and we are getting a lot done and we have been able to go out and do EV. - Rivers

Hiiiii everyone! Today, I went out with the Circuit Riders to do evangelism. My group and I did some puppets, songs, games, balloon animals and then we had a snack. The kids really loved Moo Moo Cow and Duck Duck Goose and had lots of fun learning the hand motions to the songs. Overall, it was really fun. We even stopped at a gas station and got some snacks. - Ruby

The past few days and weeks have been a cascade of events. We are making great progress on our construction project with most of the walls at window base height. For a lot of the wall sections, we have already begun construction on the window frames. In addtion, we have also done a good deal of work on what would be considered a driveway: laying rock, sand and dirt. For evangelism, we have split up into groups of six and we go out and participate in the Circuit Rider ministry. We have been able to do it with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. I have seen a dead scorpion and I am enjoying studying the wildlife and vegetation. God has truly blessed our time here. - Abishai

Another week in Cambodia! I went with several of the team members to do EV on the Circuit Rider Ministry. I had a blast doing balloons, puppets and music with the kids. We are working slow and steady on the dormitory. Welp, that is about it. -Knox
