Awesome Weekend at Boot Camp!

On Saturday, our team had a normal training day of classes. We continued with music class and began our new classes in Advanced Evangelism (learning how to share God's Word) and Puppets (learning how to share God's love through puppets). For our evening meal, we enjoyed delicious pizza that was made in the huge pizza oven next to Big Top #2 and a yummy chocolate milkshake that was made in a huge 500-gallon container. There were two "shakernauts", as TMI calls them, that went down into the container to help mix the shake.

Sunday was a much more relaxed day with a beautiful Galilean service at 6:15 a.m., followed by breakfast and then devotions. The rest of the day was spent at our campsite changing tent partners or at our eating site having some team time and taking care of team business. Mr. Steve shared some "miracle" stories from his past teams and encouraged each of us to ask the Lord to do a mighty work in our hearts and on our team this summer. He reminded us that the Scripture tells us that "we have not because we do not ask". We want to be diligent to ask the Lord to give us everything that HE would have for us this summer.

Team Member Testimonies:

Boot Camp has been a huge wake-up call for me. Before coming here I was not reading my Bible or having set aside time with God. But the first day I got here I felt God. I really did feel Him! The leaders and the speakers have opened my eyes, encouraging me to read and study the Bible more. I see Jesus in every person here and I feel the love of Jesus. I believe that it was God's will for me to come to Teen Missions Boot Camp and Jesus has changed my life. -Jessie E.

Here at TMI, I have had many experiences. Besides the obvious: bucket washing our clothes, mosquitoes, rain, sunny skies, and temperatures above 90, I have realized that I can get up and get out the door (in this case...a tent door) in less than five minutes. The Lord has blessed me with an excellent team. I normally have a hard time joining groups, but this group has made me feel welcome. Everyone looks out for each other and when we run through the Obstacle Course, they cheer each other on. Boot Camp is a great experience and I highly recommend Teen Missions.
