Boot Camp in Italy has begun!

Ciao from the Italy team! Boot Camp has officially started and the team is excited! Everyone worked hard to get it ready for the team members’ arrival on the 11th. On Thursday evening we joined the Colombian and Italian staff and the leaders for a delicious dinner of rice, beans, tomatoes, lettuce, and tortillas! KP that day (Jack and Allison) helped Miss Elianna and Ms. Angela make the tortillas and they were a hit. The team’s biggest task this week was setting up the OC, which they finished on Friday. The girls painted lots of obstacles and signs and the guys built stairs for a very steep part of the OC. The team will get to be judges for the various obstacles each morning of Boot Camp. Friday night we joined everyone again for dinner and a service commissioning the leaders. It was a special time of fellowship and praying over Boot Camp. Saturday was arrival day! When we first got here, it felt forever away, but now it’s already come and gone. Time is flying by, and we’re doing our best to soak in each moment. The team did various tasks and also had the opportunity to practice quizzing on their Bible verses for debrief. They’re getting better each time! We also attended part of Rally and had a great time. Then today (Sunday), the team got to see the OC they built in action as they took on their roles as judges. They seemed to really love it! The Italians have several obstacles that are different than ours in America. Micah judged a balance beam obstacle, Katelyn and Allison did a puzzle of the world, Wesley was in charge of the Fruit of the Spirit tires, Harper and Moriah were in Elijah’s Chariot, Abby judged the Eye of the Needle, and Jack and Obadiah were on an obstacle where you crawled under a rope on your stomach. The favorite part of the day was that our team got to go over the wall after the other teams finished. The Italian wall is slightly taller than the American wall, but the team worked so well together that even several leaders and one of our missionaries went over! This coming week we’ll be settling into our new Boot Camp schedule and responsibilities, which include teaching the puppet and drama classes. The weather is supposed to be getting steadily hotter all week, so pray for safety and health as well as energy to serve each day. You can also pray that our team would be a blessing and encouragement to those here. We so appreciate your prayers and we love and miss you all!

Hey friends and family, I love you all! It has been so amazing. Today was the first day the teams ran the OC. We all got to help with it and even got to go over the wall to show them how! Wesley, Allison, and I got to help teach drama to them which was also so fun. We also met the cutest 2 puppies who I absolutely love. Anyways, I’m having a great time and can’t wait to tell you more. - Katelyn V.

Hey fam, today has been fun, as we got to help judge the OC and go over the wall. Boot Camp has officially started, and all the Italians are here. Tonight we’re presenting our drama and yesterday I got to introduce myself in Spanish. See you soon! - Harper S.

Hello everyone! Over these past couple weeks the Lord has been showing me just how important it is to be flexible. As we are starting Boot Camp over here in Italy there are so many things that are different. We never really know what our day is going to look like. So he has been reminding me just how valuable it is to rely on Him. - Abby F.

Everyone came on Saturday and orientation was on Sunday. We got to go over the wall. - Obadiah M.
