Buenas Tardes Friends and Family!

Honduras team is definitely getting excited for pack-out day in 2 daysand then bussing out directly from the Commissioning Service! We will spend the night in the Orlando airport for an early Saturday flight (8:01am). I don’t know exactly when we’ll get them to call home, but it WILL happen sometime in there at an airport so keep your ringers on! Honduras hasn’t been dominating the various competitions, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been excelling. Every day Bro Pig judges the cleanliness of our eating, sitting, and campsites and we’ve consistently been in the high 90’s, which is a really excellent score. We served a team SB (Service Block) yesterday for disqualifying 3 times on the OC. Together, we chopped down overgrown vegetation in a jungle-like setting…and in that service, we bonded even closer. AND nobody got poison ivy on them, Praise God! At this moment, Honduras is learning how to mix and pour concrete. This is very hard work, as they scoop up buckets full of sand, cement, and rock, then work all together to mix it up with shovels as one person pours in water…and since we won’t have a cement truck to stir and mix, our amazing, sweaty team members are laboring over that pile. Then in a steadily moving line, they’ll scoop and pour it into a framed-out area, while someone smooths it over. We will be well-prepared for this job in Honduras! You’d be so proud of these teens. We’ve seen an increasing independence in them as they are acclimated to the heat now and pushing through some of the minor aches and pains without needing assistance. Blisters are healing and they’ve even gotten good at the routines here. We’re good at bucket-flushing and throwing toilet paper in the trash now! They truly lean into the devo time in the mornings, and I see them pouring over the Word with such peace. Praise God we’re all healthy. We have our team presentation today, so we still need to solidify a few areas. Elias F. will be introducing our team in Spanish (he speaks fluent French), while T.J. S. will be giving a short testimony. Others will be singing, performing a puppet show with dancing, and acting out a drama. Everyone will have multiple parts and so we can conduct this presentation anywhere we go in our travels. Keep praying for good health, team unity, and an eagerness to serve, even when it’s hot and buggy.
