Ciao Peru!
Hello friends and families of the Peru team. We made it back to the United States! Our final days in Peru were eventful as we wrapped up our work projects and said our goodbyes. Thursday was our last day of work, and we finished the girls dorm and cleaned up the property. During the afternoon, we walked to the “China Mall”, which was a large store where the team was able to buy smacks for travel. Additionally, we were invited to the El Shaddai church for a worship night, and we had a fun time singing and dancing with our Peruvian friends. They taught us a dance to a song called Rey de mi Vida (King of my Life), which we have been practicing to perform for the other teams at debrief. On Friday and Saturday, the team worked hard packing up and cleaning before heading to the Pucallpa airport on Saturday afternoon. One special experience for the team was getting to eat a Peruvian delicacy: grubs. Mr. Esteban, the Teen Missions Peru coordinator brought over some live grubs and fried the up for brave team members to try. It tasted like chicken! While we were sad to leave our friends, the team was excited to travel home and start the week of debrief back in Florida. The team is looking forward to quizzing against the other teams with the 33 Bible verses that they have learned this summer. Thank you so much for praying for us throughout the trip and for our travel home. The Lord has been so good over this past month, and we were grateful for all of the opportunities we had to serve in Peru. Adios!
Coraline Y We’ve been traveling the last couple of days which has been a lot of fun. I got to do my Bible verse review with Miss Lupe in the airport at 4:30 in the morning, which was fun. Happy birthday to all of my many siblings who have had birthdays, and I can’t wait to see you guys really soon!!!!
Mellisa H Today (Sunday) has been mildly boring, and I did a lot of sleeping. I am looking forward to seeing my family at home. I ate a grub, and it tasted sour.
