Flat tires and termites can’t stop the Honduran team!

The team is currently doing evangelism outreach at another elementary school- they’ve perfected and innovated the performance and depending on the ages, they adjust. We’re praying for souls to be saved! They first had to stop and pose by the truck with the flat tire! No worries though, they found other transportation and the opportunity wasn’t wasted! They should be back for lunch, team Bible Study, and about one hour of work around the base before bath and laundry time. They’ll need to wash up for a second evangelism opportunity for high schoolers this evening at 4pm. We are helping the Teen Missions Base here recruit for their preteen bootcamp starting this Monday and their teenager bootcamp in December. We ministered to 2 schools yesterday- one gave us each a baleada- the Honduran tortilla with cream, beans, and cheese! So kind! This base is looking stellar for the upcoming bootcamp! Our team has been weedeating, chopping back the vegetation with machetes, hanging suspended “steps” as part of the obstacle course, chopping up the donated papayas, expanding the pig pens, and just cleaning up overall. Truly, there are an endless number of projects here. The Honduran staff have been SO great - they’ve been teaching us Spanish words, working alongside us, and helping us with grocery trips in town, even when their World Cup team is playing soccer! Ha! On a funny note, during a drizzly rain 2 nights ago, we had an invasion of flying termites - they were in and on everything (food included), inside and outside. Many of our team members were frantically swatting them away, but they only lasted one night and we laughed at any efforts to avoid them! Additionally, an inside bat joined us for the girls nightly devo 2 nights ago; it just swooped all across the room as we discussed our identity in Christ. We praise God for our good health here, thank you to those praying for us! We need prayer for persistence to keep going and working hard when it would be easier to chill out…”And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
